Disappointed in the meal. The food felt over stylised, missing substance and layers of flavour. We found most of the dishes were missing seasoning. The ethos is superb, but I wouldn’t pay full price for the meal. On the main fish dish, 4 (!) of the 7 ingredients listed were missing. No muscles, no clams, no carrots, and no asparagus. The fish veloute had little to no flavour. We informed the waiter (younger) and asked whether this is how the dish is supposed to come. He said it was. It took a second mention to the main waiter, who confirmed the dish was missing ingredients. There was an offer of a complementary dessert, but honestly we shouldn’t have paid for that main course. We also shouldn’t have to mention issues twice. On the lamb rump dish (£33), the amount of carb on the dish was the size of my little finger. My husband was disappointed. The mash potato side was average, it needed more butter, more garlic, more seasoning - more love. Even the butter and bread at the start needed a touch more salt. I would also recommend making the music a little louder in the restaurant. It was so quiet you could hear all the conversations on the table next to you. The atmosphere was okay. Overall it was 3/5, but it the food needs more adjustments to ramp up the flavour. With more seasoning, paired with the right service - it could be a brilliant restaurant. On the bright side, the wines were superb. I also heard the couple next us describe the meal as ‘okay’, but the waiter didn’t clarify or ask for feedback. They need stronger management to elevate this to a Michelin standard

Second visit to this wonderful hotel and loved it just as much as before. My friend and I came to use the wellness garden and have lunch. Such great value - we loved using the sauna, hot tub and icy outdoor plunge pool, then relaxing on our loungers with fizz. Lunch afterwards was stunning and incredible value - the tastiest roast beef and huge yorkshire pudding. The hotel itself is a perfect blend of olde English country garden style, with stunning views, croquet on the lawn etc, but also very luxurious as well as relaxed and vibey. It manages to be what so many more expensive country spa hotels such as Ellenborough and Cowley try to be and don’t always quite achieve - ticking all the boxes for location, style, food, atmosphere, facilities and value. What really seals the deal here though, is the warm, relaxed, helpful manner of the staff team, who are utterly unpretentious and so friendly. Special mention to Tom on reception who immediately made us feel like old friends. Burleigh Court is quickly becoming my favourite place to go in the whole of the Cotswolds and if you get a warm summer day, I’d argue there is simply no better place to be in England!

A real surprise this. STUNNING quality. Wine that is first rate. Food that is superbly presented, thoughtfully conceived, and brilliantly executed. It fully deserves a Michelin star in our view. The menu seems simple, what arrives is complex and sophisticated as hell. And delicious! 10 days later I remember a few snapshots: - Exquisite scallops in a pea jus - a beetroot cake of complexity and complete deliciousness. - wanting to taste EVERYTHING on my 2 dining companions’ plates! - Great wine choices.. The Bacchus The white Rioja, the classy Marlborough. - The Côtes du Rhônes was exceptional. A Chateauneuf du Papes 2020 Domaine Des Trois Cellier. Exquisite! - Lovely calm and gracious service. - Altogether an exceptional meal & Eggs Benedict to die for. Freshly home made hollondaise - that tells you so much about this kitchen and the standards it is achieving. Be prepared for a Michelin starred standard of food and service in a classic country hotel that indulged our every whim. The sauna deserves a shout out too. But the walking.. the views.. the common and watery valleys- superb too.
