One of the best Sunday roasts I've had! I've been a few times for their roast dinners and every time the food has been fantastic! Always hot and the the presentation always fab! I advise you to pre book so you are not disappointed if they are unable to squeeze you into their lovely small pub as they get very busy! We usually have around a 30 minute wait for the food but to me that is standard if you want decent food, if your after food served in 10 minutes then you might aswell go to a fast food restaurant. Kate will always let you know if the food if going to take a bit longer if they've had a lot of orders around the same time. Kate & Tom are very welcoming and lovely :-) and the bar staff are lovely and pleasant too. I look forward to many more roast dinners here! I've also heard their pie nights are great which I will be trying soon too!

Fantastic lunch to set us up for the start of the 6 Nations! Thank you Nicola Davies for the reccomendation. I had the 10 oz ribeye medium rare steak and myshroom sauce with ALL the timmings and Nadine had gluten free brie and bacon sandwich with chips side. Both came with wonderful mixed salad leaves with peppers, beetroot, cucumber, pomegranate, with dressing. Great beer & wine. We'll be back for sure and maybe try their new bottomless brunch!! 5 stars!8

I'm reluctantly giving our meals a 20/10 score incase it increases the Crown's popularity and I struggle to get a table in future 🫣😃 I swallowed my roast Lamb without needing teeth in between. Cooked to perfection along with a mouthwatering array of my favourite veg. My partner's Mixed Roast was amazing too. I haven't even ordered dessert yet... Fantastic value! Compliments to Tim the Chef & keep him sweet Kate! šŸ˜… We will be back

Me and my family (5 people) stayed in this b&b for 1 evening Saturday - Sunday.

Hosting The owner was lovely - could not have been made to feel more welcome. Anything needed was well accommodated for, and we were very well looked after.

Rooms There are 3 rooms to book, and we had all 3. The beds were the best I had ever slept in, the mattress was incredibly comfy. All of the beds were ā€œzip bedsā€ so could easily be turned into twin or double rooms. I couldn’t feel the join at all, and didn’t even know until after talking to the owner that they were zip beds that could split. Bedding was soft and I slept like a log.

Dinner I honestly have never had a better veggie dinner that the one I had last night. I ordered the filo sweet potato parcel that came with salad and couscous. Portion sizes were more than adequate, and flavour was AMAZING. My other family members has squid and pork belly starters, then mains were the burger, ribeye steak, lamb, and chicken skewers. None of us have can pick any fault at all. Even the side salad was flavoursome and beautifully presented. The menu did state ā€œit’s not fast food it’s made to orderā€, and we did wait a bit for the food, but it was A MILLION TIMES WORTH IT! I wish we took photos for this reviews, but to be honest it looked and smelt so yum, none of us could wait for a pic. There were also two young ladies working their first shift the evening we were here and they were both lovely. Pulled pints perfectly, helped with waiting on us for dinner, and everything was great.

Breakfast We were waited on hand and foot, and everything was accommodated for, even lactose free for myself. The day before we were also asked what time we would like breakfast - which was great! Everything was fresh and very yummy. Even the little touches, like the butter and condiments were in cute little jars/packaging that looked like they were from a farm shop / locally sourced. No set menu either, so we could choose exactly what we wanted, which was amazing for me as I’m a fussy veggie.

OVERALL Me and my family have ZERO complaints, everything was perfect and nothing could have been better. We were well accommodated for and very very well looked after. If we are looking to stay in the area again, we will DEFINITELY be choosing this...

Full disclosure - we didn't actually stay. Although we did try!||||We booked online for end of September to stay for a wedding nearby. After checking my bank account I noticed that the Ā£50 deposit had been taken as expected, but a day later another Ā£50 had come out. I checked my confirmation email and it said Ā£50 deposit with Ā£50 left to pay and so I emailed the pub. After a few days with no response I phoned and left a message.||||Kate responded after that, saying the T's & C's state that they will take 100% upfront. Checking the T's & C's, I saw that she was correct. But I double checked the booking form and it definitely said 50% up front. Weird that this is hidden in the T's & C's and not stated upfront.||||I said that was fine, as I now had it in writing that we'd paid in full. But I did suggest they may want to amend their booking forms and confirmation email to prevent such queries happening in the future. To which she replied (and I quote) 'Having reviewed your reservation with my business partner I don’t think we are the right place or product for you, so we have cancelled your booking.' What?! Because I questioned being double charged? This makes me think they were always going to try to scam us for the additional Ā£50. ||||I had checked the reviews, but didn't realise they have two sites here on Tripadvisor (the other is at https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g1233687-d3954642-Reviews-The_Old_Crown_Inn-Uley_Dursley_Stroud_District_Cotswolds_England.html) and doesn't sound too bad. If I'd read the reviews on this page I'd never have booked. Such an odd way to do business. I think we...

Right from the start not a good experience the owner kate wanted the full amount of £100 even though we were told £50 deposit but she wanted the£100 tbh if onky the dep of £50 had been paid we would have gone elsewhere.Right from the getgo kate was rude and sarcastic ,we were going to a wedding not far away and asked if there was another way of getting there as the road was very very narrow and with a smirk and condescending tone said she gets this every weekend from people who come from the city "we live in the country not on a motorway"we expained we were brought uo in the country a few miles away but that road was like a track!|We enquired about lunch this was about 1.15 told no lunch too busy but a cafe 10 mins down the road that does coffee and something to eat.We looked around pub barely 1/4full and 10 of the customers were men at the wedding!!We asked if we could change in toilets (they had 2) told not possible we dont allow it|Anyway we went to a lovely wedding returning to room about 11pm where do i start.Mismatched duvet covers mould in bathroom wardrobe door haning off chest of drawers broken clocks in room not working, dirty floor, kettle in room wiv coffee NO CUPS NO MILK window sill paint off and peeling photos to follow|This woman should not be in the hospitality trade she only wants the money does not look after guests or the rooms please avoid i do not know how some reviews are good ,i have travelled all over the world even stayed in hostels and i can hinestly say this is my worst experience EVER...
