The food is generally great. DEFINITELY try the Eggs Benedict with hand-sliced local ham... it's not cheap, but it's oh so worth it. Pleasant surroundings and even-more-pleasant staff make The Vestry a great stop-off point. It's dog-friendly too!
For me, best enjoyed either outside in the rare patches of decent weather we get these days, or inside huddling over something hot and sinful during a quiet winter's afternoon. We went three times over three days, and would have gone more but it's closed Sunday-Tuesday. We tried their scones (generous clotted cream portions, yey!), cakes (lemon mint sponge cake and salted caramel cheesecake, both delicious) and lunch options (Buddha bowl with homemade falafel and chicken Caesar salad, both excellent).
