Went for the first time to try the Burn inn as I’d seen great things online about their Sundays dinners. Although my food was quite nice. My partner had a harder time enjoying his. I ordered a large chicken Sundays dinner which was lovely, all was cooked well. The only down side was the portions to me felt quite small. Did have a funny moment when I realised I had not been given chicken on my plate but these things happen 🤣. Was an easy fix. My partner on the other hand did not have a great experience. He ordered the 8oz rump steak and very much struggled to eat it. He’d asked for it to be cooked medium but when it arrived it was more on the rare / medium rare side and seemed quite chewy. Although he eat it the best he could. He very much struggled to enjoy it. The chips that came with it though, he did enjoy very much. For a first time experience it was still pretty good. The staff were lovely and approachable and had a good laugh when I explained that my chicken was missing. Despite the issues with the steak I’d still recommend it to people as the overall experience was quite lovely.

came down with food poisoning after our mothers day meal, 72 hours ill, kids had it too but not nearly as bad although they didnt have the beef. Ordered a pint of coke without ice and was given a pint glass, filled half way - other than that the staff were friendly

The burn Inn Is an establishment in which I frequently purchase beverages of alcoholic nature and occasionally food of a potato based consistency. Very good very nice. It is certainly the burn indeed.

Just came back from our Christmas dinner. It was utterly abysmal to say the least. My family had the soup starter, which was thick and lumpy. It was under seasoned and the taste was off. I had the Thai starter which tasted good (though you can't go wrong with something that came out of a packet. )

The main was even worse mainly due to the service - they decided to serve the veg and potatoes first, table by table between two waiters. There was a wait between every table receiving their veg and main portion, which by the time everything was cold. The female server mostly came out one plate at a time!

I had the steak (supposedly medium rare) it was stone cold, tough and tasteless. The red onion gravy served with it was foul. The side grilled tomato was obviously old. Everything else was dry. Did I mention there were no Yorkshire puddings?!

We hoped the dessert would of been alright but again it was horrible. Even the draught cider tasted stale.

And how much did we pay for all of this?...£35...PER HEAD.

All surrounding tables had similarly painful experiences with their meals. So much food was taken back and wasted. When the waiter came to take what was left of our mains all she said was 'well this is debate able'...

If you like your taste buds you will do yourself a favour and stay wellllll away of this place. If they can't get the most important meal of the year in catering right then I'd hate to think what it is like the rest of the...

I suppose we ought to have taken our cue from the fact there were only two cars including our own in the car park. The establishment is clean enough and perhaps we arrived on an off day but it was a slow, muddled and unhelpful process. Upon entering a grumpy old man was scolding the obviously new help for not understanding his ability to convey instructions. I asked him if they served food and got an affirmative. After a lengthy pause I was compelled to request if they might then have any menus. This guy looked confused but a patron at the bar offered us his menu.

The ordering process over I’m guessing it’s usual in this place to wait almost an hour before your food arrives. I will credit it that all the food arrived together and that it was hot. Other than that, it’s nothing special or inviting or a place I’d personally...
