From the outside you see a wooden house. That immediately changes when you walk in. Floor to wall is wood, beautifully treated decorated with art work by local artists. The tables are all individually hand painted the seat are comfortable The lighting gives you a warm cosy feeling. On the counter and protected by glass are a selection of stunning cakes and fine pastries sitting on slate tiles, which just adds class. accommodating every bodies dietary requirements. The menu is tastefully written its clear, the quantity and quality of food is of a very high standard. Excellent value for money. Every need is catered for, their hot/ cold drinks and a tipple for the adults . Proof of id must be available. For children there is a selection of books, to occupie them in wet weather. All takeaway items are biodegradable. Even when very busy the staff great you with a smile and hello they are aware of any allergies and if not are able to locate the correct information and find out. They keep a good good eye contact and you don't feel under pressure. The staff make a lovely coffees and there is a selection of different milks. The table service was very impressive I went at a busy time, yet the staff new where to work what needed to be done. The standard of cleaning was also very high. We came for brunch today and we loved the whole experience from food, drinks, service, the location and free parking here makes this place really stand out! I ordered sweet potato waffles, avocado and egg which was amazing! This is not the type of food you would expect from a park cafe but this definitely isn’t JUST a park cafe. We also tried the full English and a toastie which were all great! We even tried some of the baked good from cinnamon buns to croissants to cakes and brownies this place has you covered! However after ordering bacon sandwiches and coffee I had to wait 45 minutes for them to even think about cooking it.
In the end I gave up and asked for refund. Which also took ages.
Slow service. No idea how to handle multiple customers. No communication on how long food would take (big meals or small). Pretty rude staff, they might be stressed running a busy cafe, but that’s no excuse for rudeness - is also part of the job.
Total shambles, given the price they expect you to pay.
