Saffron cuisine — Restaurant in Surrey Heath

In a word, brilliant. Lock down meant I could only experience their take away service but, even from this, I would strongly recommend Saffron for a visit or for your take away. My order was ready for collection exactly when promised and I received a friendly and professional welcome. Indian food has long been my favourite treat, but I rarely indulge, especially over the last 12 months while I've been on furlough. This means that my expectations were extremely high and disappointment very possible. I needn't have worried. Our food was superb. The flavours of our various dishes were distinct and without any of the unpleasant oily greasiness that can be found in low quality Indian food. Our food was clearly of very high quality, subtle spices added to the overall flavour rather than dominating the dish. I do enjoy spice, and indulged in their hottest dish, the vindaloo, but I do know that sometimes lazy Indian food uses spices and heat instead of good flavour. This wasn't the case at Saffron. Actually had high hope's with the reviews, but very Very disappointing .. the food had loads of turmeric... My fingers were literally yellow!!! Ordered chicken biryani - rice was just ok, and chicken pieces were about 1 to 2 cms long!!! ... sad Mushroom rice - rice was absolutely dry, n the mushrooms were so few n had no good flavour at all Saffron mix - a mix grill that tasted just Ok... So I've lived in Camberley for 18 months and used a local company in Camberley town for an Indian! During lockdown I used saffron on the old dean Camberley! And the flavours and dishes are out of this world! I've ordered from all! The great thing is saffron is on my doorstep and they are a restaurant aswell. I'm so glad I found this hidden gem I've even got my parents ordering from saffron who live in chobham and they have 2 Indian restaurants there! They dont come close to saffron menu and taste!
