Came in for an afternoon drink after having food somewhere else but heard the cocktails were pretty good so we decided to give it a go. On entering got immediately seated by one of the lovely gentlemen, asked if just drinks were ok and he said of course. The ambience of the restaurant was great and we got a lovely table by the window - it wasn't too crowded or too loud. After being seated with the menus (he explained the other side had the drinks) we got approached by a blonde female server who asked our drink order (I had the Strawberry Daiquiri and my partner had the Rum Punch) and the drinks arrived about 10 minutes later. As she was leaving we also asked for a dessert menu. The drinks were delicious and very well prepared. After about 5 minutes we received the dessert menu - we were over halfway done with our drinks until we managed to flag the server again to actually order the dessert as she was coming up to the table next to us. We ordered ice cream and were going to order another drink but she never asked and left before we could. We finished our ice cream (which was lovely and really well presented) and had to flag down the server again for the bill - it took another 10 minutes for her to come up and give us the bill after we finished the ice cream. After which we sat there ready to pay (already finished drinks), for at least another 5 minutes and the server came up to pick up our drinks glasses and my partner ask to pay. She asked card or cash, and after saying card my partner commented he could see her on her phone in the back whilst we were sat there waiting. At which point a lovely male server came up, asked if we paid already and immediately brought us the card machine upon finding out we haven't and offered us a shot on the house for the wait. We spend 45 minutes waiting for one drink and some ice cream, we were hoping to get a few more cocktails but the wait put us off, which is a shame as we both really wanted to try the Caribbean Pina Colada. We paid the bill and left and as we were leaving the restaurant all the other staff were swift and courteous. This would have been a 5 star review however the blonde girl server really let us down, which is a shame as the cocktails were top notch and we really enjoyed the ambience of...
Read moreSo, I have eaten here on numerous occasions now, trying lots of options on the menu. I tend to go for the lunch offer of 3 courses for £14.95 (extra quid for prawn and seabass) or 2 courses for £12.95. I have to say I have not had a bad dish yet. I have tried the more traditional Caribbean food like jerk chicken, curried goat and restaurants pasta to the seabass and fillet steak. I like my steak rare and they didn't disappoint. I usually go for the seabass which comes in a lovely buttery sauce and caribbean mash but always steal some of the chicken skewers from my partner who has her favourites also. The staff are always very friendly and more importantly they pay attention to you. As soon as we have finished a drink they offer more. It's rare the plates are on the table empty for more than five minutes and they have never got an order wrong. It's nice to also be remembered when you walk in and that little personal touch does matter. It's a shame this restaurant and its offers aren't better known which would create a busier, possibly livlier atmosphere but honestly, whilst it's like it is I will continue to take full advantage of this little gem and enjoy the special menu and...
Read moreTHIS RESTAURANT IS TAKING ONE ASPECT OF A CULTURE THAT IS NOT YOUR OWN AND USING IT FOR YOUR OWN PERSONAL GAIN. WHICH IS CALLED CULTURAL APPROPRIATION. THE FOOD IS NOT AUTHENTIC AND IT IS SO INSENSITIVE TO CALL YOUR BUSINESS A CARRIBEAN RESTAURANT WITH BOB MARLEY ON THE WALL. My husband and I was so disappointed. We choose the location based on the name. I wanted African food and he wanted Jamaican. One there greeted by a hostess that was neither, the other staff member was suspect as well. Ok we looking at the menu and there was no African food listed. My husband looked at me and from the menu he said this is not the real thing, the cook is not Jamaican, wanna bet, and the jerk sauce wont be authentic...Well to not have to go look for food I just had a burger and chips and he had a pasta dish. We spoke to another member of staff to learn that there is not a Jamaican cook. Egyptians are cooking the food and nothing authentic is about this restaurant. If I go out for an Egyptian meal I would hope it be authentic Egyptian cooks in the kitchen benefiting off it's own culture. THIS IS STRIGHT UP DISRESPECTFULL YALL GOT TO COPY US CAUSE YOU CAN'T BE...
