Not vegetarian friendly! I checked the menu online before going and there were plenty of options but then we arrived and almost every vegetarian/vegan dish was crossed out in permanent marker on every menu. I can understand not being able to have the exact thing I want if they've run out etc but to just not offer a significant proportion of what's advertised on the website is pretty bad. The place was also almost completely empty (granted, 6pm on a Wednesday) and there was no atmosphere. Didn't stay long enough to speak to any staff.

Great choice with the veggie pizza. Although it should have had mushrooms on it (they were out of stock) and I'd already selected an additional topping of pineapple. I know, pineapple on a pizza! What am I like?! It was really good. A side of chips too. Mrs G had the scampi and chips. They also sell Guinness 0.0% too. We enjoyed our meal so much we came back again the following evening.

Visited the Wigginton last night for a meal and a few drinks. Was served by jayne and another lady how I didn't get her name. Was a Lovely environment and friendly staff. Food was lovely and good selection for the kids with a under 5's menu, over 5's menu and also a larger appetites menu. Main menu had lots of choice aswell with the option to add extra toppings or sides if required.

Revising an Old Friend Post-COVID

Had many a meal at the Wigginton over the last 9 years, a pub that seems to have had more than its fair share of ups and downs with a string of management changes.

Past experiences were generally good but with the odd disappointment; so it was a delight to walk into a refurbished and revitalized place on Saturday 02/07/2022.

Outwardly, the 1970s Architecture is probably not the worst (when compared to several 'boxes' built in the same period), but inside, the lounge area is something of a refreshing change with elevated dining bays and a real 'Olde Worlde' feel.

Gone (thankfully) is the rather gaudy purple trim that once bedecked exterior fencing and internal advertising boards and the result is a much more tasteful and classic appearance. Also absent is the rather tired 'Carvery Counter' - this has been replaced by a pleasant alcove with a three-quarter circle seating arrangement.

Upon arrival, we were made to feel very welcome and chose our table in one of the elevated dining areas near to a window. There were no problems setting up a 'tab' and our drinks were brought to the table. What took us the longest was deciding exactly what to eat from a new and sensibly rationalized menu

Having made our choices, our food was delivered quickly, was warm, freshly cooked and appetizing. Quantities were generous and belied the fact that this was a Chain Pub offering.

If anything, and only a minor criticism: the range of condiments available was limited to Salt, Vinegar, Brown or Red Sauce, and Mayonnaise, the latter three being available on a 'help yourself' basis from a central table area: as I chose a Burger meal, it would have been nice to have had a Mustard or Barbecue Sauce option.

This aside, the overall experience was a great one - and the Ultimate Beef Burger Meal rivals anything I have tasted from the more expensive Five Guys Menu. What amazed me was how quiet the place was - the staff assured me that they get very busy later in the afternoon with weekend 'events' but this is something of an oasis of calm when compared with the normal Saturday (c)rush at most eateries.

We'll certainty be returning on a regular basis - and have already recommended a visit to other friends and family alike.

It's good...

Terrible. It’s a shame, thought we would support our local pub for a family meal for 8 last Saturday evening. No on line booking available so tried to phone . This went to BT call protect which I then put the phone down and redialled. It asks for your name, I said customer, and it then rang and rang and rang so I put the phone down. Being only a couple of minutes away I decided to pop round to book, this is about 9pm on the Wednesday. At the bar the girl/lady went and got the book and put my name down for 7pm table for 8. She said that should be ok as only another party of 5 were booked for 7pm. So Saturday arrived and basically we were told unfortunately a function had been booked for the evening in the dining area. Apologies were given, and apparently they were unable to get hold of me , thought I’d given a phone number on booking. No offer of rebooking another time with say a complementary bottle of wine or 25% discount etc. Not pleased was an understatement, my wife particularly almost had a breakdown. After several phone calls a very sympathetic lady managed to fit us in at Harvester Basset Pole where we enjoyed a...

scroll for review about Xmas I attended the Ibiza day at the pub! What a fabulous day it was! From the food which was outstanding (chicken kebabs and salad) to the DJ, the chicken was cooked to perfection 👌🏼! The atmosphere was insane and I could not recommend it enough! The staff at the Wigginton are friendly & always welcome you with big smiles and open arms! Great family local! It’s always extremely dog friendly with a fresh dog menu for the pooches which Honey my pup loves!

I’m editing this as I spent Xmas day having a lovely dinner at the pub, I didn’t quite know what to expect due to never eating out on Xmas day! The food was lovely! And a good size portion, the staff worked extremely hard to keep all their customers needs met, they were running around all day! I had the soup which was soooo nice then the Turkey which was cooked to perfection, then the snowball for desert which I loved! Big shout out to Alana, Drew and Sal thank you all for going above and beyond to keep your...
