Briar Bakery — Restaurant in Teignbridge

We travelled 30 miles for this bakery and it did not disappoint. Small, quaint and smells heavenly. We've been so mesmerised by the produce, that we have completely forgotten to take some photos. The cinnamon and cardamom buns were amazing. The French boule - perfect. The baguettes - superb. The almond and jam cookies (or whatever they are called) - sublime. Don't even get me started on the focaccia sandwiches - simple, tasty and fulfilling. The staff are really friendly and helpful. It was difficult to leave, but the queue outside made it clear that we cannot spend the whole day in there. If you are in the area, or not, you definitely need to visit them. We will...

Cinnamon & cardamom bun was delicious: a great balance of sweet and spicy. Custard tart was delightful with plentiful but not overpowering nutmeg and a perfect set on the custard. Bread from Hylsten and biscuits & pasta from Fresh Flour were also highlights. Can't recommend a visit enough.
