Hungry House — Restaurant in Teignbridge

I have visited this pub many many times over the last 6 years. It’s had ups and downs but today was by far the worst I have experienced. One main meal was sent out with Prawns that weren’t cooked so it was sent back, it eventually came back with all the original food (now stone cold) and three new prawns. The same main meal was supposed to be on a sizzling platter, there was no sizzle as the black sizzle plate was barely warm, which resulted in all of the ‘sizzling veg’ being licks warm mush. The holiday burger was tasteless and the pig in blanket was almost cooked! The fairytale new Yorker was far from fairytale! And the chips with the meals were so hard they broke when we tried to stab them. We have feedback to the server but the manager (who was definitely in as he told us which our table was when we arrived) didn’t even come over and speak to us. Went here for a friend's birthday. A good choice of meals. All of the food was well presented and well cooked. None of us had steak so I can't comment on that. Plenty of room but wise to book a table as it is often very busy here. A good choice of beers and soft drinks. Coffee and tea also available. There are deals on all of the time so it is well worth having a closer look at the menu or asking the staff. There is also a nice selection of desert, unfortunately we had o room to try them as the mains were very large. My little boy loved the ice cream. As a regular visitor I was extremely disappointed in today’s visits. Staff were rude and unwelcoming. We had the 3 course festive meal. Well over half didn’t get eaten from the 4 of us that were there. One meal had to be sent bad due to nearly raw prawns. It was sent back out with the same main part of dish but new prawns so the rest of the meal was cold. It was served as part of a sizzler that wasn’t sizzling at all and was nearly cold.
