Popped in for a coffee the guy working said he would be with us in a minute, we sat down, time passed and we were just left sitting there waiting whilst more people just came in whilst the guy dealt with anyone that went to the counter, anyone but us No one once said hey sorry we are really busy we will get to you when we can. 15mins passed and still no contact no apologies for delay no nothing, we felt like spare parts tbh, in the end we got up and left, saying to the guy, we are gonna go, he just said OK, no apologies no nothing it was really uncomfortable actually, appreciate they were busy, but just don't think it was handled very nicely, I've been in before when they first opened and it was fine but this time, was not good, spent a long time working in hospitality, and making eye contact with a customer or nipping over to them even if you can't take the order straight away, say I.ll be with u soon to show they are not forgotten actually will make someone stick around, don't suppose my little review will make any difference, as rightfully so(it's a nice place) they have good reviews, but hey guys maybe just be aware that sofa tucked round the corner needs pulling into the room a bit more so it's not...
Read moreI'm so sorry, I hate to drop off a star 🌟 but it's only because in full transparency we DID have to wait 45mins just for slices of cake and my daughters pastry we had to ask for 3 times & then it only came when we were ready to leave, so we had to take it away with us.
The lattes, cappuccino & hot chocolate were all well made & tasty, great coffee. The cakes were absolutely delicious though - homemade & moist ! A good selection too. We also had such tasty large cheese scones that I could eat every day !
A really unusual place with bags of history & old world charm & character where you will be taken away by the view of the river Stour. The old overlap timber cafe is raised up steep steps high overlooking the water through it's large windows.
Lovely friendly, welcoming , warm staff that even brought water AND biscuits over to both our dogs ! They were very grateful , thank you 🙏 And thank for welcoming them and us.
I honestly can't wait to come back for more treats for us all.

Read moreA real hidden gem, looking no more than a hut, from the outside; you walk into the vestibule to see it decorated pretty much as you'd expect a tea rooms to be: walk through into the main area, and, gosh ...! I started salivating pretty much straight away, I didn't have t look at the menu to realise that there was some kind of spicey Indian style food going on. There were three of us, and we all had mushroom soup, and garlic bread- on the side. Absolutely to die for, deliciously smooth and creamy. I accompanied it with a small 'Perroni'. To follow we ordered a slice of Lemon Drizzle Cake and 3 forks. Not too much, and completely enough. The food was prepared by the charming and talented Gill, and served to us, by the equally charming and talented Kim. Thanks ladies for delicious food experience, overlooking the beautiful River...
