Browns Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Tewkesbury

I have been a visitor at browns many times, travelling from Leicestershire. On this occasion is was very disappointing. There was myself and four guests. My main meal of Duo of Duck was not edible but sadly at no time during the meal were we checked upon. Infact the service on this particular visit was also sadly lacking. We had to request a desert menu as we were not revisited at any point during our meal. My duck breast was raw the thigh was tough and overcooked and the vegetables were to hard to bite. I was offered an alternative but all my guests had finished. I was offered a complimentary desert but then they tried to charge me for it when the bill was presented. My guests also found the duck unsatisfactory and the vegetables hard. My elderly aunts crumble was undercooked, very doughy and the custard was scolding which burnt her mouth. Used to come here a lot and in the past have 5 star reviewed. 2nd time visit where we've been really disappointed 😞 prices have gone up, quality has gone down. 45 min wait! Those lovely slices fried mushrooms on sourdough that we used to get have been replaced with large whole field mushrooms that were really tuff ( think been in oven since breakfast service) with wet cream on soggy bread. Really unpleasant. We left a ours pretty much untouched, waitress just seemed to ignore this. £15 chicken , bacon advcado salad was basically some mixed leaves with some fried chicken quojons on top, didn't see the bacon. We did mention to waitress but they just said the menu had changed. Spent £73! This used to serve lovely fresh home cooked food which made them stand out above the chains. Absolutely fantastic! However... incredibly frustrating customer experience when trying to book a table and nobody picks up call and message says 'no messages can be left right now as inbox is full' this is the second time this has happened. The food and service are really excellent but the booking system is a problem. It would be good to have an Internet option to book tables (for those who use the internet) in addition to a manned phone call option for those who don't ie my...
