Disappointing! Birthday meal for mother and daughter. Ive been to this restaurant before and enjoyed the experience but I won’t be going back after my visit yesterday. The culmination of the evening was to be charged full price when I had indicated we would like to be part of the Tuesday Special Offer. Upon raising the matter when the big bill arrived, I was told we didn’t comply with the criteria. We had mushroom rice not boiled rice, a prawn dish not a chicken or lamb dish, a Peshawar nam not a regular one etc etc. I was told it was all written down but on my menu even with my glasses I could not read the micro description. It was reduced in size to fit the menu and I doubt a person with 20/20 vision could see it clearly. No one thought to mention any items that didn’t match the offer at the point of order! Ive been to other restaurants where everything is crystal clear, easy to read with guidance and supplements available on their Special menu night. Having made me feel wrong to mention it the bill was calculated and I had been overcharged. Did we look like we wouldn’t mention it? Probably! There was a faint bleachy type smell underlying the food….maybe from washing up process. Plates and cutlery were very clean though! Home brew beer not great to me and not much cheaper than top brands. Glass of wine reasonably priced. We were the last 2 people at the restaurant having arrived at 9pm. The atmosphere during our last 15/20 minutes was that the staff wanted to shut up shop although they did ask if we wanted desert. I can’t blame them for wanting to close some looked like they had school in the morning. The staff were good aside from the discussion around the bill. Ive had far better food elsewhere but my daughter likes the spice level here. After this experience I’ll be going back to my regular...

Kathmandu Palace truly deserves every single one of these five stars and more! From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that exceeded my expectations.

First and foremost, I must commend the excellent and friendly staff at Kathmandu Palace. Their attentiveness and genuine care for their customers made my dining experience truly memorable. Whether it was recommending dishes or ensuring that we had everything we needed, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? The food at Kathmandu Palace is nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. From the fragrant spices to the perfect balance of textures, every bite was a culinary delight. Whether you're a fan of traditional Indian cuisine or looking to try something new, Kathmandu Palace has something for everyone.

In addition to the incredible food and top-notch service, the ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting. It's the perfect place to gather with friends and family for a delicious meal and memorable experience.

If you're in search of authentic Indian cuisine served with a side of hospitality, look no further than Kathmandu Palace. I can't wait to return and indulge in more of their mouthwatering dishes. Thank you to the entire team at Kathmandu Palace for an unforgettable...

Booked on a Saturday evening for a party of 10 to celebrate a 50th birthday. We were Immediately greeted by a friendly staff member and shown to our seats. I had brought a cake with me and asked if this could be served at event after our meal which they were more than happy to do. All the staff were professional and attentive without being intrusive. We ordered drinks that arrive promptly and given papadoms with an array of toppings to choose from. Our food order taken and was served at an appropriate time. Food was delicious and presented beautifully. Throughout our meal the staff kept our table clear and responded to our requests for drinks appropriately Our cake was presented to us at the end of our meal with candles and music which was a very nice touch The restaurant had a great atmosphere and the decor was lovely. It was fully accessible for disabled guests The bill was very reasonable and all our party agreed it was good value for money We would highly recommend the Katmandu Palace as the whole experience was good. A big thank you to the staff team who...

I left Kathmandu Palace satisfied, satisfied I'd not jumped in at the familiar end of the Indian Food Menu section. It caters for the British Indian Food lovers, preparing familiar dishes. I tried best to go "off-piste" opting for more Nepalese inspired dishes. Out of all the food I had it was the smoky flavour of the Dahl that brought back memories of my trip to Nepal. It was that and the simple, yet delicious vegetarian Hariyo Kurilo which made for a happy experience. The side salads present alongside the starters aren't particularly springy, having been prepared well in advance. The cooked dishes were prepared well, piping hot and flavoursome. The interior isn't going to win awards, it's more about function with a hint of Asian roots. Service is caring and relaxed. There is plenty of variety in the food menu and plenty of offers to pull in the punters. It's more a local haunt than a must visit for food connoisseurs. Great price and different enough from the British Indian institutions to temp you to try it.

Second time visiting and again food and service was fantastic. We went for the Tuesday banquet menu. Portions seemed smaller than ordering full price but that suited us as we like variety and there was plenty with the set menu! The only thing that we would have liked included was a popadum, which are included on a Wednesday couple night but not solo night. Perhaps consider this Kathmandu palace? I had the salmon ajwain. Best I’ve ever tasted and will be hard to not get this again next time despite there being so many lovely choices! Everything tastes so fresh and isn’t ladended with oil. Thanks Kathmandu Palace - we will be back ☺️

Tried quite a few Indian restaurants in the area but this is the best by miles! Can't believe I overlooked it for so long. The food tasted very authentic, not overly seasoned, sickly or sweet like some Indian takeaway food can be, but just the perfect amount of flavour! The food was clearly freshly made and came to the table piping hot! Tasted amazing!! The peshwari naan and onion bhajis were a highlight for me! On top of that, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Prices reasonable, restaurant very clean and has a 5* hygiene rating! Will be returning regularly and definetely recommend trying if you're in the area!
