Melad Tandoori — Restaurant in Tonbridge and Malling

Ordering over the phone was easy. Comparing this to Sholay Spice, the Madras was tastier, chicken a bit drier though and sauce a bit oily. Naans were nicer but much bigger at Sholay Spice. Delivery from Melad has been very polite each time and always delivered on time.

What would I choose? Oil can be easily removed from a curry by spooning it off. Madras was much nicer at Melad but the naans at Sholay are huge in comparison. Its swings and roundabouts. Melad for me would win overall but wish their naan breads were bigger. It's a close call though. If you're ordering on a Monday meal deal then Sholay Spice wins hands down for value for money (easily enough for 2 people)

Update...ordered another couple of currys tonight. They were delicious and not oily at all. To be honest, one of the best madras I've ever had. Delivery was quick and ordering on their site in easy. Two downsides- the chicken was very dry and chewy and the naan breads were tiny compared to other takeaways. It's a shame because those 2 things being rectified would make...

Myself and my wife have been going to the Melad for years and have always found it to be above average but today's meal was below par and what made it worse was the price. The takeaway restuarant have decided to increase their prices by 15 to 20% on virtually everything. We usually take advantage of the offer; 2 starters, 2 main dishes, 1 rice, 1 naan and one side dish for £19.90 which we found was fairly reasonable but today that same offer cost us £22.90 a 15% increase. Effectively it was more than that as we noticed the portion sizes of the tikka mix kebab starter were far smaller. My Madras was very watery and in order to continue eating it I had to get up half way through return to the kitchen and drain half a mug full of oilly watery liquid from my plate because my food was literally swimming in it.

Absolutely disgusted by the customer service in this place. I order from here regularly and have always enjoyed their food, however after ordering a few days ago, our food arrived freezing cold. The delivery driver turned up and complained that we didn't tell that about a road closure we had no knowledge about, told us that we were lying about knowing and wanted to up the price from £31 to £40. We declined and rejected the food and he eagerly came back saying we could have it for the agreed price. We took and paid for the food, which as above I said was freezing cold. We decided to ring up and complain and the response we got was extremely rude, full of excuses and unwilling to even let us speak as they were adamant to tell us over and over again that it wasn't their fault, it was in fact ours.
