This was my 2nd visit to this Indian takeaway and let me start off by saying I'm not a lover of hot food because my body doesn't react well to. I love spices but I don't love SPICEY, now in my opinion there's a difference. The 1st korma I had from here I asked them if it really was 'mild' and they say yes. It was so hot that not even my partner who likes spicey dishes said that may as well have been a vindaloo. So I couldn't any of it. This time however it lacked ANY flavour but was still too hot for what I expect a Korma to taste like. I've had brilliant Indian food in the past and this has been a massive let down twice. I felt I wasn't listened to by the guy on the phone taking my order 😕 The chicken was dry, the "curry" was like baby food mush, my Chipattis were burnt on the outside but RAW in the centre. My BFs peshwari naan when he 'ripped into it' scattered dessicated coconut bits everywhere and it was hard, tasteless and dry. His tandoori mixed grill with curry sauce was dry, hard and not very pleasant. At all!
The picture below was my "Chicken Korma with Pilau Rice and a chapati". How vile an unappealing does that look 🤢 I'm not being over dramatic here I'm just being honest but 2 hours after consuming around 4 or 5 bites of my Korma and some of my partners mixed grill I began throwing up and the next morning my stomach hurt so much and the sickness spread to 'down below'(I don't know how else to explain my violent projectile vomiting from A-nuss any better, sorry 😂)
It may have been okay at some point but I haven't experienced it. I will never be ordering from this place ever again and my partner has said the same for...
Read moreVery disappointed on this visit. The food wasn't up to usual standard and sadly the service was rather'matter of fact '. We asked to keep our yogurt and mango chutney to eat throughout our meal. the waiter then insisted on replenishing them, however returned with yogurt and a deep red coloured dip that I wasn't keen on. I asked him if we could have the original mango instead and he worked and asked if the proffered one was too hot for me? it certainly wasn't, it just was not what I had originally asked for. We then received our main meals, the tikka masala was tasty, however the madras was greasy. we couldnt finish our meals and so asked if we could take rhe remaining curry and naan breads with us, the waiter returned one nàan to us covered in the curry in a take out container, the ither naan was still on the table. Very disappointed by this as would have liked to have been able to finish the food that we had paid for at home but ended up just leaving it there in a missed up mess. This has been the last of a few niggly disappointments at the Ganges and so with that we have decided not to return as the food and service is not consistent and we feel very disappointed and...
Read moreI have been going here for years as it always seemed fine on the way home from the pub. When i was ill in the morning always blamed it on drinking too much! I went a few weeks ago, social distancing not great, but not so bad given the size. I had rang my other in advance, i had to stand there for 10 mins as i was told they had not order, when they found it no apology. Some of the order was missing & my friend & husband were sick the next morning. Two weeks later, i was at my friends house they had already ordered, the delivery was late, the food was cold & didn't taste that great. My husband convinced me last night that the sickness was a coincidence & not the food as it was fine. So, we went in last night & ordered. Staff were not wearing masks baring one, who was using it to keep his chin warm, there was no social distancing in place. Got the food home the order was correct & it smelt lovely. When we opened the samosa they had human hair in the container and it was quite a lot to a point we don't know how it was missed, that went in the bin. After, i refused to eat mine. This morning my mother in law & husband were ill. We will never...
