I can't stress enough that the bar staff and the waiting staff were friendly, lovely and extremely apologetic however the food was horrendous. I would've given no stars for the food if that was an option. We was a big party of 15 and I already knew there was going to be issues when we wasn't asked for a pre order. You order at the bar so we went up one by one to order and pay for our food so we knew this would cause our meals to come out at different times. That is fine. Majority of us ordered the roast barm but most of them came out wrong. Two of them came out as full on roasts and their plates were massive, because the chefs read the check wrong, usually wouldn't be a problem but then everyone else was underwhelmed as their plates were considerably smaller. Especially the people who ordered normal roasts which are £2 more than the barms, their plates were much smaller also. All the other barms came out with roast potatoes when everyone asked for them to come with chips. When we asked to get them changed, the waiter returned with the original plates saying the kitchen told him to just give it to us and the chips will be out shortly. Again wouldn't usually be a problem but we ended up waiting nearly 15 minutes for the chips. One of last people to order, ordered a roast chicken and was then told they had run out. They had run out of roast chicken by 2pm. That shouldn't happen two hours into service. Especially as it wasn't overly busy. One person ordered a side of roast potatoes and they finally turned up after everyone finished their meal. I ordered the vegan curry but it turned up without the rest of what I ordered. The curry was horrible. The vegetables tasted off and sour and the sauce was watery thin. Not pleasant at all. I didn't ask for anything else or complain because I didn't want to wait forever for something else. My daughters food was the last to come out, usually a child's food comes out first. But they had clearly forgotten about it because we had to ask about it and it came out piping hot which meant she had ro wait longer to eat it. In total the first plate to arrive in our party to the last plate to arrive was a total of 40 minutes. I know we ordered separately but thag ridiculous. Plus the multiple mistakes and the child's food coming out last (and forgotten). We will return again for drinks, the area and the play area but not for food. I would not recommend eating there at all. Again the staff were lovely and apologetic to all of...

Came here with my daughter and mother in law, we arrived just after opening and as I entered the play park l i lost my foot down a hole in the ground at the enterance literally as you walk in ,almost snapping my ankle and hurting my knee falling onto my left arm bare in mind I currently have a broken left elbow in 2 places and a fractured wrist and this arm was the arm the broke my fall so now I require a trip back to a&e as my wrist and fingers have swollen and I'm in extreme pain. I went inside to ask if I could have some sort of anti septic wipe for my.knee and tried to explain what had happened but had to wait for the bar tenders to finish of there conversation that hen continued as I was asking for a wipe to be told no they didn't have one they'd go find a baby wipe at this point they are both staring at me almost as to say why are you even telling us totally unbothered by the fact there's a maive hazard that's not even been sign posted. When I explained what happened I got no response at all just did you want a drink? I ordered a drink for us all and they didn't even offer to help me with them to the table just plonked them infront of me. I pointed out the hole and they acted like it was the first time they had seen this hole and just shrugged!! As i couldn't really leave until my knee settled down my mother in law went to order my daughter a pizza and was told she had to wait until 12pm to order and it was 11.58pm so they made her stand there for 2 minutes to say "we ain't serving pizza today " so instead she ordered chicken strips and chips which you would expect being the first order of the day it would be fresh but clearly my expectations where a little too high and there was a lovely hair on the plate too which I noticed after my daughter finished eating. The menu is well burger basic sandwhichs chips pizza couple.mirco meals save you the job of reading it
Staff look like they are being held againts their will and make you feel like your custom is a hindrance to them seen more welcoming people in a Morgue to be honest. £7 for a j20 appletiser and a water I mean I could of honestly fell down the hole and entered the rhelms of hell so yeah i wont be returning to say the least, ill be too busy eating soup with a...
Read moreNot been for a while and as it was a lovely sunny saturday in the middle of the school holidays, as you can imagine it was very busy. The food coming out of the kitchen (especially the freshly made pizza from the dedicated pizza kitchen) looked (and smelt!) amazing and was very fairly priced. Unfortunately due to how busy it was there was an hour wait on food so didn't get to try it this time.
The beer garden was bustling with families, dogs and even a horse grazing on the grass! There is an outdoor bar / shack located in the beer garden that serves drinks but also does cheeseburgers and hot dogs for a quick snack. Next to that is a little 'tuck shop' for the kids with most items being only 10p. This was very popular with the younger ones. They even had a bouncy castle to go with the small play area which included a play boat! There was music both inside and outside the pub which added to the atmosphere.
There is a section inside the pub that they allow dogs in, which even has a 'doggy' tuck shop where you can buy biscuits and treats. They have a large Belfast sink in the toilets to clean up if you get a bit muddy on the water park.
The small car park at the side of the pub is now 'pay and display' with the minimum of 2 hours costing you £1 and going up to £5 for the whole day. Although you get your £1 (2 hours) back if you spend over £3 at the bar. There is also a metrolink/tram stop a few minutes walk from the pub, plus an additional larger car park just a 10 minute walk away near to the entrance of Sale water park itself.
The pub is located right next to the canal and is a 5 / 10 minute walk from the lake at Sale Water Park. There is also a bicycle repair and hire shop across from the pub which is handy for those looking to enjoy the canal trails etc.
Overall, a great pub where everybody (and every dog!) is welcome. It is especially nice during those warm sunny days that we occasionally have in this country! The staff that I encountered were very friendly, especially the lad on the outside bar. Myself and my family will definitely be frequenting Jackson's Boat on a more regular basis from now on.
Just be advised that on sunny days / weekends it can get quite busy so sometimes there is a long...
