This is a pub we have frequented on and off over the years, sometimes when Sale Sharks were at Heywood Road in the good old days. We have drunk in here on a few occasions but sometimes put off by the lack of space, but only a couple of months ago realised it had a nice seating area upstairs also. We happened by this week, and it was a Thursday, so we decided to see if it was OK on a quiet early evening and we weren't disappointed. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly, and there was plenty of room to relax. Good vibe, and we will be back. Went in again tonight, and we've discovered a problem with the pub. After going in a few times over the last few weeks, they have the annoying habit of putting the same loop of music on time and time again, and it doesn't change. I had a word with the staff behind the bar and asked why this music never changed, one of them was too busy on her mobile phone to look up, so no response there, the other staff a gentleman and lady said they couldn't change the music as it was beyond their control. The pub is very good apart from the revolving music and the mobile obsessed lady who didn't have the curtesy to thank us when we returned our glasses and ice bucket the last time we gave them our custom. Back in again tonight,...
Read moreFriendly staff, good range of draft and cask beers as well as a seasonal cask ale that changes throughout the year. Great atmosphere on match days as well as on the weekends and event days. Nice, heated outdoor area with a tv that's rolled out on match days as well as a number of different screens inside. Small, but cozy with an upstairs area that can be hired out for private functions I believe. Right next to Brooklands tram stop for when you need to get home or when your heading to town or the football after a few pints in the brook. A good place to stop for a drink after walking along the canal too! Overall just a brilliant little pub who do an excellent pint of...
Read moreA great location, one I've visited for many years, unfortunately it's been over 30years since I've visited and it looks a little dreary, needing an overhaul to the interiors to make it a far better experience. It takes advantage of the relative closeness to Old Trafford football ground but which should spend some of their profits on the property and draw a crowd of punters more akin to the popular location. Being directly located to the Brooklands tram station should be a benefit for the pub rather than purely incidental. Having a good amount of outside seating should also be taken advantage of, especially...
