Grays Cafe & Bar — Restaurant in Tunbridge Wells

We came to stay in the area for the weekend with the dog. Saturday morning we fancied a walk and a nice cooked breakfast. We walked for a hour and found grays cafe. On entering we were made to feel more than welcome especially the dog who got water and biscuits. The breakfast and burgers were absolutely fantastic. The staff were friendly polite and very efficient and to top it all we tried getting a taxi as I didn't feel I could manage the walk back. We asked a member of staff if they would try and get us a taxi. After a few calls and rejections from local taxi firms one of the staff was due a break so she said she would take us back to our holiday home. Nice and friendly atmosphere with great food. My favourite cafe in the area, and it is dog friendly - they even have free dog biscuits and water bowls for your pets. There is an inside children's play area. You also have the option to sit inside or outside, plus there is a work desk there. The service is excellent, and the people that work there are chatty and friendly. As for the the food, it is is perfect. I recommend the variety of English breakfasts. There is a veggie option, and different size English breakfast options foir meat lovers. The Matfield massive, is literally massive - you'll need a healthy appetite to get that one down you! There are also bagels, healthy breakfast options, and cakes. If yoiu fancy a beer, you can. And of course there's tea and coffee with normal or oat...

Went to this cafe on a Saturday, when it's only open 9-2pm. You can't see what it's like inside from the road, but it is certainly worth visiting. We sat in the second room looking out over the bowling greens. There a mix of tables to eat at as well as sofa seating. There is a selection of breakfasts all day but also soup, jacket potatoes and a small selection of sandwiches. We had bacon brie cranberry baguette and a bacon spinach bagel.
