Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Uttlesford

Went in a few weeks ago. It was 5 minutes to 5 i didnt know they closed at 5. My neice who was with me really wanted a flat white. Anyway you should of seen the managers face when I walked in. I told him I just wanted 2 quick takeaway coffees but you would think I had asked for a 3 course Meal!! He quickly shouted over to a girl working there quick lock the door dont let anyone else in. I was really shocked at the rudeness. I should of just walked out but like I said I was caught off guard. Talk about made to feel unwelcome. God forbid anyone walk in just before tte clock strikes 5 when its time for him to clock off. The one saving grace for this miserable first and last visit to the place was the girl he had shouted at to lock the door gave us a genuine full smile when we walked out. I think she felt embarrassed by her managers rudeness. I have worked in hospitality myself for many years and would never make a customer feel so awkward. Super busy

I got hear 10am Saturday on a cold February Saturday morning, was absolutely flabbergasted @ just how busy this place was. The queue extended all the way to the front door, must a have spent at least 10 minutes waiting in the queue!!! Some folk with face coverings on but many more with out unfortunately (although not mandatory, unfortunately!) Despite being packed we still managed to find a space to sit in and have our coffees, courtesy of the vey well planned spacious seating area available. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Coffees not as hot as could be but put this down to the barristers rushing through orders due to them being under staffed and under pressure to whittle down the long queues of people. No Lemon muffins available also made trip disappointing! Hope to return to this Cafe' again when not so busy however wont be trusting google analytics since they weren't very accurate on...

Wanted a crossiant for my granddaughter, they were all mixed up on labeled trays, asked gor what I thought was what I wanted, the reply we haven't got that, I asked why is it then it's on the tray tge reply we just haven't got that , I said it's confusing to customers especially with dietary needs, the girl just shrugged her shoulders. I then asked for an iced coffee that was like water and had no taste. Got 2 cokes and was asked do you want glasses I replied yes please. They came straight out the dish washer and were so warm the ice melted instantly so ended up drinking...
