Sunday evening 6:25pm 13 August 2017. It was my first time visiting and it will be my last. Pathetic. Disgusting. I asked if they sell Appetizer. They didn't. The staff member said the Britvic Sparkling Apple "literally tastes the same". And I can tell you it literally does not. It's like comparing orange squash with freshly squeezed orange juice (the britvic being the orange squash). I ordered a standard pizza and a dessert. I requested the dessert to be vegan, the staff were confused, even though it is stated on the menu that the chocolate torte can be vegan (they just needed to remove the ice cream). I waited half an hour for my food before going to check what was going on. No one told me there was a long wait and it didn't seem busy in the pub. I asked at the bar where my pizza is. The staff member went to check and came back to say it will be out in 2 minutes. There was no apology or explanation for the long wait. One of my fellow diners ordered a chicken roast dinner. She could not eat some of the food. The carrots were like rubber and you couldn't put a fork into them. The potatoes were hard to cut and old, like they had been microwaved from stock left over from the day before. The mash potato was also dried out, and hard. The chicken was overcooked. None of the food on the plate was hot. No one came to check to see if we were enjoying our food. Overall they failed on almost every level. What disgrace.

The College Farm Pub and Restaurant is a charming venue located in the heart of the countryside, just a short drive away from the city. The pub boasts a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a rustic decor and comfortable seating that make it an ideal spot for a casual meal or a night out with friends, family and even solo going. The menu at the College Farm features a range of classic pub dishes as well as more refined options, all prepared with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The food is consistently delicious, with generous portions and great presentation. The pub also offers an impressive selection of beers and wines, including some local and craft options. The service at the College Farm is outstanding, with friendly and attentive staff who go out of their way to make sure that every guest feels welcome and taken care of. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch or a more leisurely dinner, you can always count on the staff to provide excellent recommendations and ensure that your experience is enjoyable. Also that Joe parsloe guy is a sick one. Gave me a glass of water and said here ya go

Popped in with my mum today after her hospital operation, ignored when we walked in, staff member more interested in cleaning the liquor shelves… even though the place was almost empty, stood there 10 x minutes like a pair of lemons waiting to be seated to be told to “just find a seat” and oh my god never ever have I seen such a filthy grubby place in my life, tables were filthy sticky and greasy, we tried 3 of them! Most not even wiped down….there were bits of food on the floor carpet and lots of it! Was gonna leave immediately but nowhere else near by! Ordered 2 x mixed grills, waited over 25 minutes, food wasn’t too bad, well cooked and tasty, had to use the gents after and mum used the ladies, my god! Stinking toilets, absolutely filthy… I dread to think what the kitchen is like! The whole place needs a deep clean and get some more pleasant staff (ones who don’t look they are being put out when you order) off to take a shower now, I feel dirty 🤬 you won’t ever see us again.. never!

College Farm is a great family pub. Perfect for casual mid-week diners or large weekend lunches for all the family. The prices are good value, portions are suitably sized and the staff go out of their way to welcome and attend to families or small groups so as to make visits fun, tasty and minimal fuss. It's not a fancy restaurant - just a great family orientated pub with simple but great tasting pub food and excellent service. The pub is dog friendly and a spacious beer garden and function room is available also.

The menu is mainstream and doesn't pretend to be otherwise. It's akin to the offerings of most UK pub chains but the service is great, and the super friendly staff work hard to be swift and efficient in their table service whilst the kitchen team make tasty, straight-forward but delicious classic "pub grub" dishes.

The gourmet burgers are particularly good, featuring great quality whole chicken breasts or beef patties, framed within wholesome bread slices and stuffed with fresh lettuce slices, pickles and delicious sauces.

Quiz nights are quite popular and you should book tables in advance; that said, the staff will always try fit you in if possible and welcome regulars and visitors alike with equal gusto and warmth. Although the food is simple, the chef and kitchen team take to the task with relish and will happily do what they can to accommodate all guests and their individual needs; whilst the pub managers and front of house staff are very friendly. Overall, a great value and very family friendly pub that...

Pros: Bar staff were very friendly & accommodating Convenient/central location Beer was nice (although not a huge selection) Food was fast to come out (you'll find out why below)

Cons: Patio area was infested with ants Benches/seating was falling apart & unsafe to sit on Food was frozen and reheated in a microwave Dire lack of flavour, with a dribble of sauce which quite clearly came out of a microwave packet with the food All attendees from our table were unable to finish their meal, due to the disgusting excuse for meals that were served on our plate Shockingly overpriced; we could have paid a third of the price for better food at McDonald's around the corner

Overall, this was an extremely disappointing/disheartening experience - I've not been here since I waited 2 hours for a frozen roast a couple of years ago, but I was under the impression that the place may have changed hands in the interim & fixed their flaws; this was unfortunately not the case.

This place has good potential, but only if management quickly realise the problem - THE KITCHEN - and act on it quickly, before it's too late; they quite clearly lack in pride & care for the work that they put out and it's extremely visible - either that, or they are focusing too much on speed/getting the plates out quickly and are letting the quality drop.

It saddens me to think how many complaints the bar/table staff must receive on a standard night of kitchen service - I hope that this feedback is taken seriously, for the wellbeing of...

It was awful, we booked a table but when we walked in someone from the bar ‘sit where you want order at the bar when your ready’ did bring a high chair over though. when we went up to order we were not given a receipt even though we asked, there was 2 waiters/bartenders in the whole restaurant. When the food came out it didn’t look great but we were hungry so we tried it, the steak was supposed to be medium rare but was that well done I struggled to cut it at all, also asked for no peas but they were on the plate too. Mashed potato was cold when the plates were red hot and gravy was just warm coloured water. The kids meal we ordered came out extremely hot except from cold mash, the sausage was so overdone I couldn’t give that to my 8 month old so we ended up going to McDonald’s to get something quick as my baby was clearly hungry. My partners burger was so over cooked it didn’t look like meat and had clearly been chucked together! We will definitely not be returning and wouldn’t recommend to anyone either! The kids play area was non existent as well. Not impressed, we waited for someone to come over after we had ‘finished’ but waited over 10 minutes and no one came and no one was around so we just left as my baby was getting upset due to being hungry. The toilets weren’t pleasant, the first cubicle I walked into there was no lock at all, the rest were dirty and covered in faeces the smell wasn’t pleasant. Staff were very loud with their private...
