Cafe 509 — Restaurant in Wakefield

Extremely poor service from start to finish. I thought I’d treat myself to a breakfast during a dog walk, so I went to the front door and asked if they take orders outside. I was told yes, so I sat down. After 10 minutes of waiting with no menu or further acknowledgment, I had to get up again, only to then be told they don’t take orders outside—despite them seeing me sit there the whole time. Eventually, someone did come out to take my order.

I asked for a large breakfast and two sausages for my dog, but was told they had no sausages. I asked if they had spam instead—no, just bacon. Surprising for a café to run out of such basic breakfast staples. I went ahead with the large breakfast, a cup of tea, and some water.

It took another 10 minutes before I was even given water. The breakfast finally arrived and was very basic and over priced for what i received. After finishing my food, I waited another 5 minutes and still hadn’t received my tea. On my way out, I had to ask for it in a takeaway cup.

not enough tables and chairs, it was a 2 star review but seeing as the owners want to be rude and have an attitude towards my review it got changed to a 1 star. if your removing tables & chairs maybe you should put a shelter/gazebo on the outside eating area as its always raining and nobody can sit out there. all I have to say is the bread they used to make my...
