2021 update. It would seem they have not improved the standard of their takeaway service. The food did arrive within 30 minutes. Unfortunately it was very greasy and not that warm. The rice (plain boiled) was stale, dry, cold and went straight in the bin!. The bread was hot though. My recent restaurant experience was grim. The food was good but having a course brought to the table before finishing the first? Really? Waiters seemed to focus on two tablets of regulars and we weren't asked if everything was okay or if we wanted another drink. Couldn't get waiters attention for the bill so had to go stand at the till. There is now a much better option in town where you are greeted at the door and made to feel very welcome from start to finish. Food also excellent. You've had the last of my money now Red Chilli.
2020 experience I'm reviewing this based on the current takeaway service. Usually this is my go to restaurant but the takeaway service is very disappointing. We both ordered what we usually have in the restaurant so my comparison is fair. The food arrived nearly cold. Not a good start. My main course (king prawn pathia) only quarter filled one of those plastic cartons and only contained a few pieces of chopped up prawn. Whilst I believe in quality over quantity this was taking the piss! The taste was similar to the restaurant meal but the bits of prawn had become rubbery from been sat about for a long time. The chicken dish was a more generous portion but also nearly cold. The extra bits were a reduced portion too. Glad we ordered breads or we may of been left feeling hungry (they were hot) The price was similar to eating at the restaurant but I had to wash up. I will be waiting until the restaurant open again before I return. The service in the restaurant is generally understaffed and you always feel like the takeaway service is taking priority but the food is great and I would give it a five...
Read moreReviews for this restaurant tend to say good service and food. On this basis I booked a table. Upon arrival our table had been given away we had to wait 30 minutes plus to becsested and a similar time before our order was taken. Another 30 minutes plus before we got a very average starter for two and no drinks. Both myself and friend had driven so ordered water. Another 30 plus minutes passed afer we finished our startrrs before our table was cleared. I enquired where our drinks were and shortly afterwards we received s bottle of water and two of the smallest glasses you could imagine. Another 15 minutes passed 40 ish minutes after starter our nains arrived. Both could only be described as OK. Throughout the meal it was obvious the staff were unable to cope with the full rrstusrant and take away orders and that service suffered. One waiter made a couple of half hearted attempts to apologise but we had nothing from the head of house who was not bothered and didn't even say goodbye when we left. I certainly won't be returning or paying for such apauling service and only average food nor should you. I suspect a lot of the good reviews are from people still drunk from consuming large amounts of bring your...
Read moreApart from very confusing ordering system it was a poor meal. Prawn Madrass was nothing close and more a sweet tomato based sauce. No spice. Flat as a F###. It was half a container and not nice. Garlic Naan was wet and like dough. Chapattis ok. The Chicken Byriani was so bad only had a few bites. No spice. No flavour. It's like the chef was off Monday night and they just poured some stuff at random into a pan. We chalked it up to a bad decision to choose them. Have had loads of good currys in Leeds, Bradford, York, etc and understand a good curry. This was not a good curry. If you try them. Taste it. Make sure its spiced. Balanced. Naans not wet a dough like. Rice not too full of water and sludge. Obviously if you don't know if it's a good curry. Suggest you try chinese...
