Disgusting behaviour!
Visited here tonight Friday 17th January for my father's birthday meal we drove from barnsley because my mother and father has been before and recommends it.
Everything was great, they was an hour wait for food but didn't bother us as we was there with family for a birthday meal.
My wife ordered a curry with a side of rice when the food arrived they was no rice but they was chips, we politely noted the staff, they didn't have a problem and said the rice will be out shortly.
The person serving our food called Tristan brought the rice over to my wife held it away and confrontationally said " who is this rice for" my wife politely responded that it was for her, he replied with "you've got chips" while still holding the rice away, my wife responded with " I didn't order them " in which he replied questioning her in a horrible manor "are you sure" my wife again politely responded so he eventually put the rice down and stormed off, he came over to our table very rude and very confrontational all of our table thought the same and a table across from us noticed his behaviour also.
A couple of minutes later my wife visited the bathroom with our son and on her way she saw and heard Tristan kicking off to another staff member about the customer with the bowl of rice.
The issue wasn't the rice it was how he came over with this type of behaviour, confronting, questioning etc.
It made us all feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable so we left mid way through our meal and asked for our birthday cake for my father back from under the counter as the night had been ruined by how he treat us and spoke to us and decided to call it a night and left never to return again.
I have since had a look on the Google reviews and there is plenty commenting on the behaviour of the staff.
A member of staff Liam came over after seeing the situation unfold while we was getting ready to leave, he noticed the food had been left because of the situation and kindly refunded us for the meal, Liam was great in solving the situation for us and was very understanding, I can only hope Tristan learns from Liams customer service.
Myself and all of my family members will never...
Read moreWe went on the 28th of June and booked a table. Can I say to your owners if I may you have a outstanding team and on this occasion you should be proud of them.
We was served at the bar by a very lovely warm young lady called sienna. She was so upbeat and couldn't do enough to serve us. What a lovely refreshing way to be greeted to the pub. So thank you for being a delight. I'm so glad you're kind to customer who treat you the same way you have such a lovely personality.
Can I say the heat was getting a bit to poor Tristan but he didn't drop the ball giving us nothing but great customer service. Made it extremely special when we ordered pudding as we made him smile about cold apple pie and cold custard which we laughed about. He also brought a candle out in my pudding as he was told it was my birthday by the sweet sienna and that one beautiful touch of care really made my day. Thank you so much Tristan you serve us all fantastic and still kept going despite the heat.
As for food may I give the kitchen staff which was Scott, jade and Paige the biggest complaint I can unfortunately I couldn't talk to them and say thank you. I had chicken pie and mash potatoes may I say what ever you do to the mash potatoes well you should be proud I enjoyed the mash. The pie was full of filling and we all loved our food. I would like to say sorry for confusing you with the cold apple pie and cold custard I really am happy you got it right he enjoyed it and made the day special. Thank you as well for the candle in my pudding was sweet of the kitchen team as well.
Thank you so very much for the food the fantastic drinks and the great memory of that day.
Would honestly highly recommended the atmosphere for someone who struggles with people was great. You should all be completely happy with yourself and thank you so much for making my birthday special. Hope you're management team show...
Read moreWhat a disappointment Christmas dinner was. I have cooked for twelve people Christmas dinner for 32 years and decided this year to eat out. My cousins were over from Australia and because also I have a problem with discs in my neck and cannot look sideways for very long without being in pain I asked that we have a round or square table so that we may all chat to each other. I specifically said when I booked it that I did not want a long table where the people at each end could not chat. My request was written down and when I went to pay the balance i was shown the table we were to have and everything was okay. We turned up to find other people at our table and were led to a long table which was what I had said I did not want. My father at one end never spoke a word to my aunt who was at the other end all afternoon! My aunt was at the end where there was a pillar and due to a table being behind this pillar every time the people or waiters needed to get to and from the table in the corner they had to pass through a small gap by the pillar leaning each time. The vegetables were raw! My broccoli hadn't seen water, the sprouts which were the frozen variety were hit and miss, some solid and some soft?? And the carrots were also hard and for some reason my son had three token garden peas while I had five. The parsnips were burned, the only vegetable worth eating was the potatoes. My aunt who has never eaten out before has early stage dementia and loves her veg and this caused her so much stress, having to leave half her dinner. The poor waiter seemed to spend his whole time apologising while it wasn't his fault that the 'chef' can't cook vegetables properly or the management can't...
