Aberkenfig Kebab And Pizza House — Restaurant in Wales

My wife & I order from Aberkenfig Kebab & Pizza house often but after the abysmal service we received tonight, we won’t EVER be ordering from them again !!

Our order was placed at 18:20 & took over 1.5 hours to be delivered. After over an hour, we called the restaurant & was told our order would be five more minutes. It eventually turned up over 35 minutes later. As my wife has an autoimmune condition, she is extremely clinically vulnerable to COVID, so it is imperative that ALL deliveries are carried out contact free. With this in mind, I added the following note to my order :-

CONTACT FREE DELIVERY PLEASE KNOCK ON THE DOOR AND LEAVE THE ORDER ON THE DOORSTEP. THANK YOU

There is also a clearly visible permanent sign on our front door, requesting that all deliveries are contact free. To be absolutely sure, I even put out an additional A4 paper note taped to the door requesting that the delivery driver place the order on the doorstep, knock on the door & leave because we are shielding. ALL of this was completely IGNORED by the restaurant & the delivery driver.

I called up the restaurant to complain that the delivery driver did not follow the contact less delivery as we requested. Instead of getting an apology, I was asked to explain the situation. Having done so, a rude and ignorant man told me that he could not even see the problem.

The problem is COVID! Contact free delivery & social distancing have been necessary since COVID began in 2020 but apparently Aberkenfig Kebab & Pizza House are completely unaware of this. They clearly don’t care about customer safety & have no concern for vulnerable customers.

Finally when we sat down to eat the LAST MEAL WE WILL EVER ORDER from Aberkenfig Kebab & Pizza House it was missing items.

Staff: these guys are amazing always friendly, interacting with customers and no change is too much trouble

Food: both donner meats are far less greasy and actually taste more meatier than most, the portions are usually generous and the salad fresh, burgers both chicken and beef are usually great never over or under done and presented well!, sorry guys I've never tried the pizza 🍕 😅

Overpriced and underhand selling tactics. They charge extra for coleslaw and peppers on kebab. They ask if you want either or both, as they do with all the other salad items but don't tell you until the till stage that you have to pay extra for the coleslaw and jalapeños. They just ask about them as they do with all the other salad items. By then it's too late to say you don't want them so you have to pay the extra. Very sneaky way to get extra money out of customers. I've never been in another kebab shop that charges extra for salad items. My £9 kebab ended up costing over £10 because of a small spoonful of coleslaw and a few small jalapeños.
