Lovely little restaurant, great service, great food.
Have to book online in advance due to covid and limiting numbers, easy enough to do and you get a confirmation e-mail in return. We arrived and our booking was there, so we were shown to our table. General rules around the restaurant, face masks to be worn everywhere bar your table. If you need to use the toilets, it's one in one out and there is a green/red sign outside the toilets to know whether they're vacant or not, just switch it to red as you go in so no-one else comes in. Toilets were clean and tidy, plenty of loo roll, paper towels and a working hand dryer.
All table service, menu's are paper copies and your asked for your drinks order first. Our food order was taken when the waitress returned with the drinks for us. Food didn't take long to arrive at all, we had 2x cooked dinners with some sides, and a big brains burger. Food was gorgeous and served very hot which was great. No complaints whatsoever with that. Our table was cleared quickly and we ordered dessert at the same time. We had 2x of the brains chocolate brownies, and we made requests for extra scoops of ice-cream on both, and for one brownie to be made without the walnuts that were advertised. This caused no issues and staff were happy to oblige. The brains brownies are absolutely gorgeous, made fresh and brought out in their frying pans (hot to touch!) so still hot, gooey and moist. The ice cream I believe is Mario's and it just starts melting on top. So so good and a wonderful treat.
Service was great, we had 3 waitresses in all but 1 was our 'main' one, and she was very polite, upbeat, friendly and helpful. Plenty of staff availability to tend to many tables, Sunday lunchtime so it was relatively busy but everyone was suitably spaced apart. Nothing took long at all, the food, drinks, bill etc. Very well priced restaurant as well given the high quality of food. Definitely...

This was an early Friday evening booking, taking advantage of the pub's recently received promotional flyer with its discount offer. I went with my wife, five year-old daughter, and dog. As we entered, the place looked warm and inviting and was seasonally decorated. After a short pause inside the front door, a member of staff appeared, took our booking details, and led us to a distant, somewhat dimmer and less inviting corner of the dog-friendly bar area near a fire escape. In their defence, my wife did ask for the further table to give the dog more space. We ordered some nacho sharers to start, followed by burgers. People near us arrived, and ordered and were served. Time passed. I grew increasingly hangry. We waited over half an hour for some nachos (just nachos), feeling very much like we'd been forgotten. I asked at the bar if our food was coming, and was told it was nearly ready. About ten more hungry minutes later our burgers arrived. No sign of the nachos. There was clearly some mix up with that part of the order. The burgers came with half a plate of thin salty fries. A small salad or coleslaw or anything green would have been nice. My chicken burger and my wife's veggie burger were both fine, standard pub fare. My daughter's quorn burger was almost rock solid in places, as if overcooked. No staff returned to our distant corner, asked about our food, or seemed interested in offering us dessert. I paid at the bar on the way out as I’m not sure any staff would’ve returned to our table, ensuring we weren't charged for the lost order, and that we redeemed the 30% off voucher. This at least helped take some of the sting out of a really disappointing experience. I'm sure other people there had a much better experience than us, but we're...
Read moreWe booked a table for 5 but on arrival the waitress had no idea where we were to sit even though I asked for a wheelchair friendly place and was assured we would have our request. We found the menu confusing as it didn't state what vegetables accompanied each meal. I ordered Rack of Lamb and there was no hint at all what the accompaniments were to be, I had to ask. Other meals stated chips and my guest ordered a burger with chips, it arrived with a side salad as well. My guest had ordered a side salad and there was no need but we weren't advised of this. There was no mention of Garlic bread but the waitress informed us that "of course they did this option.".....it's not on the menu????????? Most good restaurants say at the bottom of the main meal menu that all meals will be served with a selection of potatoes, rice or vegetables. I ordered a herb crusted rack of lamb, there was no sign of the herb crust and all I had was 4 tiny lamb chops served separately, not exactly ''a rack'' as expected and at £18 we felt this was a rip off. All the time we were there our table looked like an abandoned table in a pub , it was full of glasses that weren't required or that had been used, no attempt to remove the surplus glasses was made by the serving staff. We asked for a carafe of water , there was no ice included. All in all we were very disappointed with the meal and...
