Bull Inn At Pentraeth — Restaurant in Wales

I, along with my family, have eaten at this pub a handful of times. Initially, it seemed just your 'bog standard' pub/carvery. Nothing special, but nothing too offensive either. My last visit on the other hand was horrendous. I ordered the 'mini-grill'- mini being the operative word. Costing over £10, this was not a cheap meal. Provided was a pile of cold chips, cold peas, dry chewy mushrooms and 4 bitesized pieces of various meats. The menu stated 3oz of each meat- not a great amount to start with, but I was presented with extremely tiny pieces consisting mainly of gristle. To top it all off, on the side of the plate sat a giant tomato. Not cooked, just sliced with the quintessential cross along the top. Of course, this was disappointing. I asked if it was ok to speak to the manager at the bar. I explained that this was 'a bit on the slight side'. He explained the menu and said that each item weighed 3oz prior to cooking. He then proceeded to slam a menu on the bar, say pick something else and walk off. To their credit, the other staff working seemed some what embarrassed and shot me apologetic smiles. I checked the menu and waited. It took a separate member of staff to go to him and explain that I was ready before the Manager returned to take my order (again). Spend lots of time on Anglesey drove past many many times so fancied a change tonight booked and went. Got settled at our table got the drinks in ordered steaks (Well done) extra veg £2.90 & peppercorn sauce £2.00. The food came started to eat, I sliced into my steak which was pink & bloody inside, I got the waitress she said herself, that's not well done she apologised and promised to bring me one back, meanwhile my other half is eating his tea so I'm waiting & waiting & waiting some more about half a hour nearly had passed no food came back so we asked fora refund for my tea, we wanted a meal out together not to sit together an eat separately!! We were offered no drinks no nothing and when I asked for a refund the bar man was haggling about the veg I paid for as a side ! I never ate anything and as I was requesting my food money back she mimiraculously appeared behind me with a plate of food guess what no veg, the moment had passed they took far far too long to rectify the original mistake then were funny about giving us a full refund. I was very unhappy indeed, just a drink or offer of something to pacify or make it better would of been nice, it was very ill handled then to rub salt in the wound I was made to feel uncomfortable for asking for my money back, the chap didn't look in my face once, it was all rather awkward and through no fault of mine either, I left...

Called into the Bull pub after it being recommended to us for a nice meal, so we travelled about 30 miles for a lunch meal. Place looked clean and pleasant enough so decided to stop for a lunch. Found a table, looked at the menu, opted for two carvery’s, went to the bar and placed an order with a middle aged gentleman who turned out to be the landlord.for two carvery’s when asked if we wanted drinks I requested a jug of cold tap water with ice please. Only to get the really “abrupt response” of “we don’t do jugs” he then proceeded to get two small glasses of tap water, no ice and virtually banged the glasses on the bar spilling some water onto the bar. I was totally flabbergasted at his response to my simple request for tap water in place of alcohol or soft drink, not being a “local” I could only assume that it is his regular method of dealing with his customers. Which I found totally unacceptable and immediately cancelled my order. I informed him that I was not impressed with his rudeness, and stated to him that “Politeness costs nothing” then walked out of the pub.
