Café Velo — Restaurant in Wales

What a great cafe. I live in Llantwit but haven’t been around when the cafe is open. But wait! Gamechanger! Rachel is now open from 7am, so I can nip in on my way to work and have my coffee just the way I like it ( in my scruffy mug). Really friendly atmosphere and great cakes.

There’s a few bike spares - inner tubes etc, which is useful to have locally. I mentioned that it would be useful to have gear cables and brake pads too, to save me having to go online for them.

The gallery upstairs is a lovely place to visit too.

I visit every time I'm cycling through the area (almost every weekend) for a few years now. Always a very warm welcome and friendly conversation. Cafe Velo is family run and offers some cycling essentials to keep you going. There are even some bike locks to secure your bike whilst you enjoy your coffee. Had a refurb recently which is brilliant as it's doubled the downstairs capacity! Super little cafe in the heart of Llantwit. The coffee is always excellent, in particular the cappuccino is always served hot ( I don't like the warm offerings often served at other cafes) it's a proper local community café, frequented by walkers, cyclists, dogs(with their owners 😃) and locals just passing by.
