Cafe Rana — Restaurant in Wales

A bit overpriced for what we had, and limited menu. No omelettes, and I have to say that I am glad. I fear what they would do to an omelette after getting a solid yolk in my egg. Liked the thickness of my thick bread. However, I would be surprised if that bread was delivered this morning...saying that, they don't open till nine! Lots of staff, but none offered to set up the high chair. The cafe is the cornerstone of the Welsh valleys, and this was evident by the amount of older people drinking coffee. Stopped and treated ourselves to breakfast this morning only to be left very disappointed. The sausages and bacon were reheated and the breakfast was advertised as including a slice of doorstop toast but, was just an ordinary slice of cheap bread. The cakes are advertised as being homemade but the ones on display look surprisingly similar to those sold in Costco. I have been a customer of this cafe for 7 years; when I moved away from the area I drove from rhoose once a week to visit with my son as it is such a lovely, friendly place, with good food. It is very baby and child friendly (I first came when my son was a week old, and he still enjoys coming now 7 years later.) Many of the staff have been at the cafe many years and are very friendly. I am so pleased that Wendy is now the owner as I know the cafe will continue to provide a wonderful service to the community. I would recommend this cafe...
