BEWARE OF YOUNG BOY - SCAMMING TOURISTS & STEALING YOUR MONEY

Me and my 9 year old son visited the takeaway hut for some drinks and food to take with us on our walk.

After I paid, the young lad was pressuring me to buy something else.. in particular a boost Chocolate bar. I kept saying no and in the end he asked my son if he wanted Skittles so I just said okay and got them for him as this boy was not giving up with begging me to buy another item in a separate transaction.

He said that would be £1 but didn’t show me the card machine so I stupidly trusted him and tapped my phone. Due to not having any signal/internet it wasn’t until the next morning that I saw £10 had been taken out of my account. I truly believe this has been done on purpose as I overheard him trying to sell the same boost chocolate bar to the couple in front.

I have called and been promised a call back from the manager but they are now blanking me so I have had to report them and take it up with my bank.

Not trustworthy and I have been scammed and stolen from, the boy has just got himself a tenner pocket money and is probably doing this to many tourists...

This place came up on TripAdvisor as having outside seating and good reviews so we thought we'd treat ourselves to a Welsh breakfast. However, upon arrival we were told we couldn't get a Welsh breakfast outside. Only food bought at the outside kiosk, which appeared to be part of the same business, could be eaten outside. Welsh breakfast had to be eaten inside.

I am on chemotherapy so because of extra vulnerability to COVID, I never sit inside cafes. We told the cafe this but they were adamant that we could not sit outside for breakfast despite every table outside being empty. You'd think under the circumstances....! But no. Apparently if they let us sit there, other customers might want to sit outside for their breakfast. Well, if customers want that, why not listen?!!!

The food was pretty good and the waitress lovely. Otherwise it would be a one star not two from me as I thought whoever was managing this place was completely lacking in both empathy and commonsense.

Let customers eat what they want where they want! Especially when they've got such a good reason not to want an...

Been coming here for years whenever visiting the watkin path or Rhyd Ddu. It's never been actually good, always a little pricier than it deserves to be and the WiFi has generally been poor... but I've always tolerated it on th basis that it has toilets and wasn't completely terrible.

However, they've now introduced an ugly booth outside for takeaways, so even if you've been inside and used the toilets they won't let you order/buy food to take away at the counter. Even if its not busy at all. Its weird for a hospitality business, especially one who's major usp is that they have toilets, to behave so inflexibly.

Fortunately for them, the demographic is such, that I doubt they'll receive much negativity, but when a customer is already inside and at the counter, the idea that you'd refuse to serve them as you've done for many years because there's a booth outside now is just a bit ridiculous and feels weirdly controlling and power trippy.

Anyway, this is the first time I've ever been on that side of the mountain and bought nothing from them, but this experience suggests it won't...

Visited after meeting the owner down at the pub in Beddgelert. Super friendly guy. Told tall tails of the amazing burgers they make at his cafe up the road… Well we couldn’t just take his word for it! walked the dog a few miles up round Nant Gwynant to go take a look and the guy ain’t kidding! Seriously good burger. A little pricey but the portions are massive and everything is home made. Just what you need after a long walk in the sideways rain. The owner and his family are incredibly welcoming. Couldn’t do enough for us and enjoyed the friendly chat while I polished off that massive burger and a couple of tasty local beers. My partner really enjoyed the local gin and he was even nice enough to show us the bottle and share how we can pick some up ourselves (yr Wyddfa, Purple Moose) Look forward to returning in summer on my bike! 10/10

We stumbled upon this place accidently when on a walk from Llyn Gwynant Campsite amd Wow I am so glad we did. At first we thought it was a tiny cafe at the front which sold cakes and coffee but we went round the back and there was a cafe/resturaunt in the back of the old Chapel. We looked at the menu and was so excited. We ordered cocktails - Gin Fizz, expresso martini, passionfruit Martini and food - burrito bowl, duck loaded fries and beef brisket benedict. The food and cocktails were absolutley amazing. I have been to alot of nice establishments in my time and the food and cocktails is up there with the best. The staff in here were brilliant. We asked a few questions and the lady who served us was really helpful. If you are in the area you must try this place. You will not be disappointed.

We came here for lunch on a rainy day, desperately hoping they’d have a table free as other places in the area were closed, and indeed we did manage to arrive just in time to get one. Coronavirus precautions were clearly being taken very seriously, with staff wearing plastic screens, and plenty of cleaning being done, with ample space between tables to maintain social distancing. I had the tofu katsu curry and my partner had the ham and egg, and we both really enjoyed our lunch. The food is presented in an attractive way, and the chef clearly has a creative, modern, thoughtful approach to food with a limited menu (a good thing) using a mixture of traditional and modern ingredients. I was happy to find a piece of vegan cake for dessert too, as I was celebrating my birthday.
