A charming little café that’s refreshingly affordable, unlike the overpriced options often found in country parks. The full menu is only available with an advance booking, but if you drop in unannounced, there’s always a steady supply of drinks and a selection of cakes on display. The outdoor seating offers a picturesque view of a string of beautiful houses perched on a grassy mountainside, with a serene lake at the base. While the scenery can feel underwhelming and dreary on a cloudy day, it transforms into a stunning backdrop for photos when the sky is clear and blue. Overall, it’s a solid spot for a casual visit, earning a respectable 6.5 out of 10.

We stopped off here after a 6-mile walk on the Clydach trail. It's a real gem of a place on the lakeside. There's a bar and cafe serving a varied menu and beverages. The outside area overlooks the lake with plenty of seating, although it would benefit from a covered area in inclement weather if you have your canine companion. The staff are very friendly and the service is good. The view of the lake and its wildlife are delightful. We will definitely be visiting again.

Very well organised. You chose your Sunday diner when booking. A table will then be reserved for you. You pay before you have the meal. The diner was just the right size. A little fault that the food became cold very fast. The desserts were scrummy. We took a walk after the meal and then came back for coffee. Their capaccino was not as tasty as Costa.

This establishment has so much potential, the only thing that holds it back is the staff. We often visit with the children and dogs as it is in a wonderful place with lovely surroundings. What I cant understand is how the staff decide what tome to close? We were aware that closing was 5pm.. so at 5.35 we decided to have another drink. The girl abruptly said.. ive been told to stop tap! I said we woll have drunk and drink and left by 5pm.. she said no its stop tap.. we need to leave by 5pm!! we then went for a walk and noticed by 4.55 they had closed the shutters. This place is losing so much money purely because the staff would rather be elsewhere, even ordering a drink seems too much to ask of them. Of it wasnt for where it is it would not...

Great Value for your money. Staff were friendly. Their food is presented really well, and like any real good café they sell Fancy cake slice's, In which case there is a few different choices. You can sit outside the Café which also sells adult beverages and cocktails and if you're not that sort of person why not have a nice latte or frappe while watching the Ducks. An absolute little gem in the heart of a Welsh mining valley. Well done to this little business. I will certainly be coming...
