NOT SUITABLE FOR LARGE PARTIES - OVER 2 HOURS WAIT FOR FOOD.
I get it, every restaurant gets busier than expected at times and staff are often stretched between tables but our experience at Chillies was beyond.
We arrived at 7pm and promptly placed our orders but we didn't receive our starters until 8:30 and our mains until 9:15.
What was more infuriating was that the waiting staff kept asking us if we wanted any further drinks and seemed oblivious to the fact that we had been waiting hours for our food. Unfortunately for us, it ruined what was supposed to be a special occasion.
Had the waiting staff been more aware of what was going on and offered any mitigating responses such as some free snacks or drinks to see us through the wait at what was a busy time for the restaurant, I would have been more understanding. After all, there was nothing wrong with the food once it arrived.
It's one thing to receive bad service and another to leave without an apology for it.
Large groups should certainly stay clear, this restaurant hasn't the competency nor capacity to manage groups larger...

I clearly told the waiter that the rice portion was insufficient and asked for extra, but instead of fixing the issue, he charged me an additional £3.50 for something I had already paid for. This is completely unacceptable and feels like being overcharged for their own mistake.
When I complained to the restaurant manager, his response was that “normally people order naan bread and dessert.” My reply to that is simple: I am not required to follow what other customers do. I have the right to order whatever I choose, and that is no excuse to overcharge me for something that should have been included in the first place.
In the middle of the conversation, he suddenly went silent, brought over the card machine, and tried to rush me into paying — right while I was explaining how absolutely disgusting the behaviour was. The customer service here is 0 out of 10,...
Read moreWonderful local place, My only complaint has been the temperature of the food. The waiting staff make a fuss of bringing plates over, pretending they are boiling hot when they are either cold or just warm. If the food was hot, it would quickly cool on cold plates. As for the waiting staff, they are asking they same questions one after the other, surely you only need to confirm that everything is satisfactory with your meal or it's not. The last four times we have been, either ourselves or our guests had to send dish back to have them reheated, & unfortunately that's just as the food has been delivered. If they could get their act together, they'd have a great restaurant as opposed to a mediocre restaurant as it is...
