Well just had a rather upsetting experience over 2 cups of coffee. I had forgotten my purse and really felt the manager was holding me to ransom, that I had to return with the money or else... Or else what I'm not too sure about. He compared me to 'runners'. Well I have more faith in human nature and have worked in catering. I honestly felt insulted. I offered my work phone as evidence I would return. Still not good enough. Anyway once out at my car I realised I could access my bank card details on the app and all was sorted. I went back and paid (phone not set up to tap and pay). I would also like to say that the friend I was with stayed back as 'hostage' so that I would return.
If I had been in the manager's shoes I would of said 'no problem. Just call in tomorrow to pay and that will be fine'.
But maybe I'm wrong and he was right... But aggressive yes.
I had really wanted to go here to eat but his attitude has totally soured any thoughts of that ever happening which is a real shame as the food...
Read moreOn main road into Denbigh Straight in at 10/10 👜 handbag restaurant review for a perfect lunch today. We shared a garlic, red onion, goats cheese, pesto and rocket pizza bread (a meal in itself 😮) very tasty. Delicious chicken carbonara, very generous portion with lots of chicken strips, too much to eat so they provide you with a take away tub 👍. Belly pork from the specials menu was also perfectly cooked with a nice crisp top and creamed polenta with gram Moravia cheese, honey roast apple, red wine, Marsala sauce and raisins and yes it tasted as good as it reads. Very light yummy Tiramisu served in a jar and a yummy chocolate fudge pudding again perfect 👏👏👏Compliments to the chef for all the meals and menu choices. Also to the very organised, uniformed and hair up staff and everywhere including the bar area and toilets were immaculate (even the table cleaning cloths by the fire extinguishers looked very clean) Just go and see...
Read moreWe stayed here for a Saturday night whilst we were at a wedding nearby. On arrival we were welcomed and shown to our room which was clean, modern and very well appointed. The rooms are above the restaurant which had the most amazing tantalising smells of Italian cooking - we did almost contemplate forgoing the wedding and staying for lunch :-) The beds were comfortable in our family room and we all got a good night's sleep. In the morning breakfast was a fantastic freshly prepared full English (or maybe Welsh) with great quality bacon and sausages and lovely freshly brewed coffee. I travel a lot on business and that breakfast would have put most 4 star hotels I have stayed in to shame. A friendly welcome, clean and comfortable accommodation and a great breakfast....
