We stumbled across this wonderful family-run pub and B&B completely by chance and what a stroke of luck! With everywhere in Cardiff fully booked for the Oasis gig, we needed a place to stay nearby, and I genuinely think we couldn’t have found a better spot.||||From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome by Gemma and her lovely family. They told us that they are new owners and have only owned the pub since Christmas. The pub has such a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the locals were incredibly friendly. we ended up watching a game of rugby with them and felt like part of the community straight away!||||Upstairs, the B&B was absolutely immaculate, spotless, beautifully presented, and it even smelled amazing. Every little detail had been thoughtfully considered: complimentary snacks, bottled water, a well-stocked tea and coffee station, and the fluffiest towels imaginable. And the bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, I’m now on a mission to find out what mattress it was!||||The hospitality was second to none. Gemma and her family truly went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and felt right at home. It really was a “home from home” experience.||||Travel into Cardiff was a breeze, just 20 minutes by train, and the local taxi services were super friendly and offered fixed fares, which made everything even easier.||||I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It’s rare to find somewhere that feels so genuine, welcoming, and well cared-for. We’ll definitely be back for our rugby games, and will be telling everyone we know to...
Read moreOnly visited The Cwrt Henllys twice, and on both occasions was very enjoyable. The Bar and Lounge is spotlessly clean and well presented. The Bar has a vast selection of Wines, Beers and Spirits plus some modern day selection of drinks. The Restaurant looks very nice, and the large conservatory looks an excellent choice for any family and business venue. The views are something to admire as you can see straight across the Bristol Channel. There is seating outside for those who want a drink in the fresh air on a summer's evening. Back inside the Lounge Bar is a small room which occupies a Poole Table and back in the LB are a few TV screens two standard size and one large screen to view those important sports events. Upstairs is accommodation with En suite rooms, which, if as presentable as the downstairs will be worth a stay. I'm led to believe that there is a swimming pool on the premises, not too sure if it a private one or not. The menu has your usual Bar meals, however, cannot comment yet on the food, but that won't be long before I try there cuisine. And finally the owners/Landlord and Landlady are very welcoming and 'full' of character. So,The Cwrt Henllys is well...
Read moreArrived on Saturday to attend a family wedding reception ,||My wife pre booked the room the week before , for our family , when we arrived we were greeted by manageress , she said we don’t have rooms to cater for a family , we obviously asked for a family room when we booked but she told us we never mentioned we had children ???? She Was very rude began shouting at us and stormed off in a huff as if we had done something wrong , a simple apology would have made the situation better but that never happened and we were left stranded with 3 children , we were lucky enough to then get a room at the nearest premier inn we had to leave the venue and return once we had checked in at other hotel almost making us late for the wedding reception, It defeated the object of booking a room where the wedding reception was , venue was pretty nice to be fair unlike the managers who were unwelcoming rude and very abrupt ,definitely not suited to a customer facing role and certainly shouldn’t be working in hospitality, also there was a massive dog walking around at one point which when the bar staff realised, they put the dog back in the KITCHEN where it appears the dog ...
