Golden Mile Inn — Restaurant in Wales

Had a really unfortunate experience. Went for my mother in laws 60th, dropped off table decorations and when we got there they had forgot to do them so we had to do them ourselves. No big deal. But then I ordered some bread and olives to come out with our starters, clearly explained this, but they bought them out 20 mins BEFORE the starters as appetisers, only realising this mistake when I reminded them. Still no big deal, we were still having a good time and the food was lovely. Then when our mains arrived one of the fillet steaks was brought as a 'well' done instead of a medium, waitress error. We sent it back but they tried to just change the steak, meaning the rest of the food would go cold! So we had to ask them to change the entire meal so it could be eaten as such. That particular main was my mother in laws, whose birthday it was. It took them sooo long to replace it we had all finished. So she ate on her own for her 60th. Also the replaced steak was tiny, we took a photo it was like they were blaming us. BUT they were apologetic, they gave her a free prosecco and the food was lovely. So we were still pretty chill about it all. Even though we sat down at six thirty to eat and her food didn't come till eight, she didn't have a starter either so she was gutted. Anyway, we were all eating cake when a waitress came over and told us our time had run out at the table!!! Disgusting, they never sign posted a time limit and we were only delayed due to their error after error, which was impacting us more than anyone else. Then told we had run out of time! We were so chill about all their errors, determined to have a good time, but that final event meant I had to complain, which sucks. The night was ruined. They did refund my mother in laws meal, which is okay I suppose, but we can't recapture or redo her 60th and we will never be going there for a special occasion again. Table of 8 for my partners birthday … We booked weeks in advance and turned up on time , to wait 20 mins outside…. I ordered something simple , bangers and mash and we waited 50 mins for mains after our starters …. I got Cold lumpy mash and very cold fried onions …. With skinny sausages tasted as bad as it looked . It was Sent back and was quickly reheated to volcanic temperatures in their microwave ! Classy What the bell has happened. Our friend had “chicken supreme “ It was stone cold 🥶??? Our previous two visits were fantastic . New menu , great if you like burgers and food with no soul. Ordered drinks and extras and we were just forgotten about . I’ve rated this restaurant before as it was a level above . Sadly something has changed … ??? Extremely expensive for average portions (chips were very small as they often are. What? I like my chips okay! 😅) and the food was mediocre. We booked the function room for 20 people and despite having our own room, they laid the table out in a really bizarre way. They created an L shape, meaning on the inside corner you where boxed in by two people to the left and behind and the table to the top and right of you. Also mean half the table I couldn't see or talk too and couldn't get out to go over to meet them. Nitpicky I know, but the room was very much under utilised and could have easily made a square shape or something better.

One plus side is they didn't expect a tip with no gratuity automatically added to the bill which apparently is the norm for large groups. We still left a tip, but man do I hate it when they except one. It's like telling an angry person...
