Can't understand all these rave reviews. Today was our first visit there - and our last. The place is lovely, decor nice, people lovely. Service excellent. But the food is DIRE. Prawns dry and tasteless, spare ribs chewy and fibrous, too much of the food with a poor quality beige batter, tired and tasteless. Chicken was the most tasteless chicken I've ever eaten, the crispy beef was horrible, no way could you tell it was beef. Noodles dry, no flavour - I left them uneaten which is not me at all. In short, food of very poor quality. And EXPENSIVE!!! We have a number of takeaways in Bridgend, every one provides food far better than this one. Never again. UPDATE... Well I did go again, to a celebration do. Still a lovely place, the do was excellent. But the food - entirely tasteless. Noodles tasted of nothing. Was the chicken real chicken? Tasteless and soft like quorn, horrible stuff. Chips had been cooked a long time before, yucky chips. Taking the drinks order I asked what was on draught as I don't like bottled or canned. Answer - a Chinese lager and McEwans. I said McEwans please. He brought a bottle of McEwans. So I sent it back, chose something else. He put the second drink plus the McEwans on the bill and would not accept I hadn't ordered it. Disgraceful, unacceptable, never going...

When we arrived, we were not given a drinks menu, so I thought I'd ask if they could do a mocktail and I had one... the mocktail was just orange juice with a dash of blackcurrant squash.
When we had the bill, I was astounded! a pint of draught was £5 and the mocktail was recorded as a 'drink' on the receipt, and it was £7!!! I am not one to complain, but I felt this was extortionate pricing!
When I challenged this before paying I was told that the price was the price, I asked for the manager, she then stated that the drink contained lots of different ingredients, I asked what they were and it was obvious that those ingredients were not in the drink e.g. lemonade as the drink was not fizzy. She then suggested that I should've asked for the price beforehand, I challenged her by saying that I should've been given a drinks menu! She then changed the price to match a pint of draught!
Also, it was my partners birthday, so I thought they may have done something little to show a celebration...
Also, we heard the manager arguing with a member of staff over an issue, which put us...

Been going to this average establishment for years because my brother liked it but I will never go again. My wife didn't eat this time as she is on a pretty strict diet. Theres been other times when member of our party have not eaten without an issue. However, this time I was forced to pay full price for my wife, who ate nothing at all, under threat of PHONING THE POLICE! I couldn't believe the way we were treated. I was pointed to a tiny terms and conditions sheet on the side of the entrance, amongst a plethora of other ads that apparently said I should have said she wasnt eating first. I mean......who stops to read the terms and conditions on anything nevermind a restaurant. I felt scammed! Plus it soured my little niece's birthday. Enjoy your stolen money golden well.....you've lost lots of...
