Here is history old and new. Deep in the heart of Wales in a place called Denbigh there's a tavern with an amazing history. Ask inside for details of the well. Rooms steeped in history and locals with lovely smiles and bar staff attentive to help you enjoy your day. Ot boasts accommodation a bar, private rooms and walls full of local history and curiosities There's an amazing beer garden hidden on a crop with stairs to a view you have to be sober to appreciate. I imagine it's lively in the evenings but I'd visited during the day. Along with all this is a nightclub and events area where I noticed " open mic comedy" nights . Sounds fun. Located behind the main road away from the hustle and bustle, nestled in the heart of Denbigh you'll find this diamond.

We popped into the Guild Hall Tavern for some lunch and were surprised to find it pretty quiet when we arrived. After a quick drink order at the bar with the polite barman, we found ourselves a spot to sit and decide on our food choices. Once we’d ordered at the bar, the food came out in about 15 minutes, which felt just right and gave the impression it had been cooked fresh. We went for the hunters chicken topped fries and the southern fried chicken basket with fries. Both were presented well and tasted good, just what you want for a relaxed lunch. Overall, it was a nice visit. Good food, polite service and a relaxed atmosphere. I would recommend the Guild Hall for a spot of lunch if you’re in the area.

Came here for a one night stay as it was recommended. A very quaint, old hotel. Check in was easy and fast. Small carpark at the back which is first come first served etc. Room was lovely. Had tea/coffee making facilities, TV etc. The building is both 14th and 16th century so do expect sloping floors with creaking....it just adds to the experience of staying here. Breakfast was fantastic for the extra £10 although they could do with a new coffee machine really. Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes. In such a rural part of the world there isn't much choice but this place is definitely worth a go.

We were told we needed to book, so we did, when we got there we got ignored by the 3 bar staff, when they eventually saw us, they said someone has just sat on your table, we were seated at the back of the pub out of the draught of the propped open door. Drinks order was taken but told they didnt have cucumber for hendricks gin, because they have been busy today. Then they found the cucumber in the kitchen. |I ordered food to then be told the menu we were given was not the up to date one, without the camembert we wanted, and heres a new menu, ok so i ordered the burger only to be told, we dont have any burgers left. |We got up to pay for the drinks and leave, the young man behind the bar didnt know what we had to drink???. Just 5 mins ago. |Get your act together, we wont be back, we we to another restaurant were the service...

Had booked a table for Saturday night, arrived staff not expecting us so it seemed Got some drinks and was taken to a table, after waiting 10-15 mins no one came with a menu, went to the bar to ask if we could have menus, only to be told in a very rude and abrupt manner they are on the bar get one, I was shocked by the staff’s response to me, I did snap back and tell him I wasn’t a mind reader, as he never said we could help ourselves to one, I went back to my husband and said we are going, I paid for the drinks and we left. I will not be going back again. The funny thing was another staff member was laying a table with menus and putting a reserved notice on it for someone else. Was supposed to be a nice meal out for my husband’s birthday but it was terrible. We do live locally would NOT recommend your...
