This didn't make me go 'Wow' .My first concern is that the management have made no responses whatsoever to any reviews and I've scrolled through over 12 months of them. They don't care what customers think and will not consider our concerns. I can make all Indian dishes from scratch - and I realise if you have say a Balti here, it'll be different at every other restaurant. So for something different we went for their signature dishes. Mine was Lamb Shek Shek. Despite the heat grading there was barely any heat and the lamb was not tender as expected. I had to remove inedible grisle My wife had Sorce Gusht Tarkari. Her lamb was tender. We tried one another's sauces and could barely taste the difference. The only heat I experienced was one of the dips that came with the broken papadums. Nan was ok but chapati not cooked. I could see white areas of uncooked dough in it. Its only whole wheat flour and water. At almost £80 including 2 drinks each I left disappointed. The quality was simply not there despite their boast of "Fine Cooking" on the menu. Bare in mind too that their Food Hygiene rating is a lowly 3 which is a bit of a shocker for a Welsh Asian Food Award winner. On the plus side, we visited here on a Saturday evening; its so out of the way there were no idiot drunks in here like town/city centres

Popped in for a takeaway. Was grunted at by a young man with a large beard, that takeaways were in another room/side extension, not the main entrance. I explained to someone else, whilst in ā€˜that room’, that I was ordering a takeaway and would also like a drink whilst I wait. I was then taken back through the restaurant to the entrance, where the man that I first saw just sat there on his mobile phone, glancing up when I came in with his colleague - no apology for the misunderstanding. I ordered my food and a drink and waited, no pleasantries from the staff, possibly asking if I wanted another drink, once I finished the first. Listening to their phone orders, the young man with the large beard struggled to even say please and thank you, whilst taking someone’s order. Extremely poor service. The takeaway food was swimming in oil; vegetable vindaloo, saag aloo and aloo gobi. Had to use tissues to drain it. Far too much oil, which made me feel sick. Overall, not very friendly service and the food has far too much oil in it. I’m staying in the area for a while, but won’t return. I’ll find somewhere else.

Went there tonight it was a Sunday buffet menu . Food was delicious and had different dishes to our lovely local Indian. Onion bahjis were crisp and tasty as was my starter Benfal Jal Fry ( a new dish for us).main courses were so tasty too jalfrezi was hotter than we are use to but again tasty. My main was just scrumptious again both new dishes . Mine was minced lamb and chicken in a lovely sauce which was complimented by the soft bread. Decor was clean and tastefully done. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Will definitely come here again when we return. Can't understand it if you have complaints as nothing was too much trouble food very tasty and hot. Has to be good as it didn't stop on the takeaway side

Had a very poor experience on my first visit to Indian Lounge for a takeaway this week and shan't be returning. I initially arrived at the main entrance only to be told I was in the wrong place to collect takeaway orders and was immediately shooed away in the direction of a cold damp annexe opposite that was being used a storage room for tables and chairs. A sign on the window simply said wait to be served, so I sat shivering in this storage room for around 15 mins til a waiter in the adjoining restaurant finally noticed me and asked if I was being served. I hurriedly paid the bill, collected my food and left - a very poor start to the meal, and a terrible and very unprofessional first impression. In fact I'm shocked that any restaurant business would treat its takeaway customers so badly. That said, my wife and daughter enjoyed their meal of chicken tikka massala and pilau rice, but the same could not be said of my meal. My shish kebab starter and keema nan both went straight in the bin as the lamb mince was putrid and clearly off - definitely not fresh. My chicken tikka korai was tasteless and the vegetable fried rice had huge clumps of vegetables in oily rice that tasted rancid. I'm a big fan of Indian cuisine and regularly eat at Indian restaurants across the UK, and have to say this was one of the worst experiences I've had. All in all a terrible experience that left me fed up, hungry and out of pocket to the tune of £55. I won't be back and unfortunately can't recommend...

Local to the area and got a takeout. If it was just my review would be one star but partners meal was apparently nice (tika masala) . start with the good. Onion bahjis nice, nans nice. The bad; -meat samosas filling had nice flavour but the somosas had soggy and saturated bottoms in a really bad tasting oil. Chicken pakoras,. 4 strips in a takeaway box probably equivalent of half a chicken breast for Ā£3.85 and they were in soft batter, over dry chicken on the inside and tasteless. Chips- soggy, cold and hard all at the same time! The worst by far was my lamb phall. I love spicy food but this was just wrong. Didn’t taste anything like a Phall and was horribly bitter to the point I couldn’t eat it. Just tasted like they dumped a load of raw powdered spice with no aromatics or flavour into a different curry. Had a curry from here a year or so ago and it was lovely so maybe I just picked a bad night but I won’t be going again. I could possibly put some of the ā€˜soggy’ comments down to it being a takeaway but I live down the road and was there at the requested pick up time. There’s no excuse for the god awful flavours though. Paid close to Ā£50 for two people and was truly disappointed. Oh and the prices offline are either wrong or they over charged me. I’m all for local business but really missed the mark on in...

A disappointing takeaway that was so poorly lacking in flavour and texture that it wasn’t edible.

We were surprised by this underwhelming experience given we’ve had takeaway twice before in the last 12 months and found it to be ok and the ā€œbetterā€ Indian of the area.

Sadly based off similar reviews, looks like the place has taken a turn.

We ordered three meals and the best we can say about any of them is the accompanying poppadoms and the dips which had a bit of oomph to them.

There was no flavour to any of the dishes, everything was dripping in oil and the meat was overcooked to the point a steak knife would struggle to cut through it. Sadly, none of the meat had been marinated.

Remove the chicken from the chicken korma we ordered (as a safe non-spicy option for kids) and dust it with ice sugar and you’d have yourself a creamed coconut dessert - lovely in a biscuit crumb pie crust but not what you want from your curry.

The Dahl was a bowl of barely cooked split lentils and nothing else for flavour.

My husband’s spicy curry with not a hint of spice.

You know it’s bad when even the dog (who’ll scavenge anything he can sniff out) even refused to eat it.

I suggest the cook consults a cookbook before their next shift in the kitchen.

Wish we’d saved our money and time and popped to Tesco instead,...
