All we can say is a huge thank you to a very lovely gentleman at Mae's cafe today who came to our rescue. Our car battery was flat after we left the door open on the car park. We had already been to Maes and was treated to amazing homemade beef and vegetable pasties, cake, coffee and ice creams and service with a smile. Looks like a family business which is always lovely to see. After asking if anyone had some jump leads, without hesitation the gentleman at Mae's left the cafe and went to their home and collected jump leads and their car to help us boost our car. It's people like this that restore your faith in the human race. Thank you so much. From the reviews we have read we note there is some negative ones which is very sad when the owners are new. Supporting local independent businesses is key and when you get the extra mile too that is 5 star service in our books. If we can be anything in this world be kind and we were shown that today. Good luck, thank you and we will definitely be back again to visit.... hopefully without the flat...
Read moreNeed to sort out front of house service, so slow , waited as one person in front of me being served , lady came in and because person serving knew her served her first , maybe , it was lack of concentration but I have been here a few times and it’s so hard to get served, people not paying attention to busy talking etc , even if you walk in and your the only person there it takes a long time to get there attention, cakes etc look good , only giving this review as a constructive advice , hope it’s taken that way and as a paying customer I think it’s ok to give my feedback seems to be plenty of staff but maybe need some training, customer service is important? Be aware that you will be attacked by the owner in any answer to any reviews you leave that the owner doesn’t like , it’s a shame they can’t take on board people’s...
Read moreMy wife and I regularly stay in Llandanwg and visit Maes Cafe on almost every visit. The owners are lovely, very friendly, and helpful, and they always stay open longer than the hours stated.
The coffees are exceptionally good and thoroughly recommended. I will often have a bacon and sausage bap as its all locally sourced and top-notch.
My wife is vegetarian and is also well catered for within the extensive menu.
Having recently visited with our 5 year old grand daughter, she thought the ice cream was "awesome", so had to try the biscoff and the strawberry, absolutely first class and extremely tasty.
All in all, it is a perfect place to stop for a fantastic coffee and a bite to eat - all a stones throw from the beautiful beach what's not to love.
Give Maes Cafe a visit. It's a must do to complete a perfect beach...
