Owl’s Nest Tea Room Diner – More Than Just a Café, It’s a Community
I’ve been to Owl’s Nest Tea Room Diner a few times now, and every visit reminds me why I love this place so much. It’s not just a café; it’s a hub for bikers, a place where you always get more than your money’s worth—not just in food but in the experience, the atmosphere, and the people you meet.
I recently attended the launch of MARK – Motorbikes Acts of Random Kindness here, and it was the perfect venue for such an inspiring event. The turnout was fantastic, with riders from all over coming together for a cause that truly makes a difference. MARK isn’t just about fundraising; it’s about creating a network of support, kindness, and generosity within the biking community. And Owl’s Nest embodies that same spirit—welcoming, down-to-earth, and always ready to support a good cause.
The food, as always, was spot on. Generous portions, great quality, and prices that make you feel like you’re getting a bargain. Whether it’s a hearty breakfast to start your ride or a well-earned lunch after a long journey, you know you’re in for a treat.
But what really makes Owl’s Nest stand out is the people. It’s a place where you’re never just a customer; you’re part of the family. Conversations flow easily, friendships are made, and whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, you’re treated like you belong.
If you’re a biker—or just someone who appreciates good food and great company—this place is a must-visit. And if you ever get the chance to attend an event like the MARK launch, do it. Because places like Owl’s Nest and causes like MARK remind us that biking is about more than just the ride—it’s about community, kindness, and looking out for one another.

Read moreVisited the Owls Nest when it first opened, years ago, the service was slow, rude, and the order when it did eventually turn up was wrong. We said never again. Returned last weekend 14/8/22 unfortunately it has not changed, staff do not acknowledge you at counter, to the extent that we did not bother to order, and we returned outside. They then decided to close the premises on a whim for a break, because the staff were were too hot..! It MAY have been hot, but put staff on alternate breaks. Meanwhile all the visiting bikers, who no doubt were very hot and in need of refreshments, were left waiting and moaning in a queue outside. The owner is obviously having it too good at this place, mainly I suspect because bikers will keep returning, because it now has a reputation as a bikers cafe. But I am sorry, I loathe having to leave a bad review, but of all the unhappy bikers in attendance there last weekend, it seems no other person has reviewed this. They need to focus on their customers, starting with the simple things, politeness. I fully appreciate, whilst leaving this review, our group might have visited there on two bad...
Read moreMmm I think my expectations were too high for this place, after all it has had a lot of praise. Nice large car park and still open after 4pm on a Sunday, the cafe is a relatively old and small wooden building with about half a dozen small tables inside but plenty of outdoor seating which was covered, good protection from the sun but I wouldn’t want to be out there in the rain. I was disappointed to see a bottle of 500ml coke was £2.20 and because it was late I opted for a pasty which was only £3.75 but it must have been sitting in the warmer all day because it was dried to a crisp. I guess I should have ordered something else because other reviews of the food have been excellent.. plus I didn’t complain so they never had a chance to resolve. The chap at the till was pleasant and helpful. In all I’ll give it another try but my expectations will be much lower mainly because the building itself it not...
