I gave this cafe 5* on my last visit 2 years ago so couldn't wait to get back here for another breakfast while touring Wales again on my motorbike.i came in on Saturday morning and was told it was a breakfast buffet on the weekends.Sounded so good to me £10.95 for 8 items or £15.95 for 12 items..I opted for the 8 item which included coffee and a glass of fresh orange.i thought what a good bargain so I selected my items and got my drinks.ive got to say the fresh orange was good as was the coffee but everything else except the beans were awefull.Everything on the plate were lukewarm at best, the eggs were both broken and I would guess had been sat under the heat lamps for well over half an hour, the bacon was awefull and the Sausages were the worst I've ever had and I've had alot over the years..I'm not sure what's gone on here but it was very quiet and I think that's why all the food was luke warm..they've cooked it and it's just sat there for ages..I'll never be back here again..to be brutally honest and i never like giving bad reviews it was a disaster..I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because of the unlimited coffee which I should have...

Half our party ordered, 1 x drovers pasty, 1 x sausage roll, 1 x child's chicken goujons and chips. Other half of party ordered next, 2 x jumbo sausages, 1 x sausage roll. Child's chicken goujons were burnt (child's words), they looked like they were cooked and reheated, they were very dry and the coating was rubbery. The chips were fine. The second ordered sausage roll came out as a sausage bap, not what we ordered. The cafe wasn't even busy. Asked for a refund for the child's meal which was given but there was a lot of huffing and puffing behind the wall before telling me the excuse, "we have to cook the goujons ourselves and they have to be to a certain temperature". No kidding they have to be cooked! Seriously? What a ridiculous excuse for very poor food. Haven't been there for a long time and won't be going back. Will continue to travel further up the road (15 min walk, less 2 min car / bike) to Owl's Nest where the food is...

Have used the West End cafe many times before . Never a problem ! Last Monday 6th Feb. My partner and I walked in. We both wanted the Toilet before sitting down to look at the Menue. We were what only can be described as Pounced On ! Presumably by the (New Manager/Owner) . Shout across the floor as we were walking towards the Loo. Hellooooo, can I help you ? Explained will order in a minute. Decided to have the roast...till we saw the Dry shrivelled Beef joint, and unappetising vegetables. So ordered 2 Curries half and half. Told we would have to pay for an extra portion of chips ? On checking There was NO curry ??? So Decided to have 2 Chilli 's. 1 tea 1 latte. Order read back....1 Chilli 1 Beef roast 1 tea 1 coffee half & half ????? Walked out at this point. Went a little way down the high street to Tudor Cafe. 2 curries 1 tea 1 latte. Excellent !!! and cheaper !!! Will not be using the West End Cafe...

Quite disappointed really as it looks nice on maps. I had a Dragon breakfast, £9 of food. Mushrooms, 2 fried tomato, 1 egg, 1 piece of toast, 2 sausage and 2 bacon with beans. Very filling but the food quality, especially the sausage and bacon was very poor. A lot of the food tasted as if it had been sat for a few hours including the toast. The sausages were overcooked and burst with the outer skin difficult to cut and an overcooked taste. Bacon was like a piece of old carpet underlay. My partner had a toastie that cost £6 and it was average with stale crisps and coleslaw. It was smokey in there from overheated oil and the windows weren't even open. Service was good and food came quickly - probably because they only fresh cooked the egg and tomato. £18 wasted in my opinion. Avoid.
