Pengam Spice — Restaurant in Wales

Simply appalling experience from this restaurant. Firstly, we were given a grand total of 17 chips (yes I counted them as I couldn’t quite believe how small the portion was) that were cold, stale and clearly frozen chips that had been poorly reheated. The rice was coated in cinnamon and sickly to the taste.

The chicken tikka masala was completely inedible - it tasted like pure sugar and resembled the colour of beetroot soup - bright purple! It was also stone cold.

The lamb rogan Josh contained a few measly pieces of lamb that were dry and hard, and this dish also loaded with sugar but not as sweet as the masala thankfully as it was the only portion of the meal we were able to eat.

The chicken tikka was 4 tiny pieces of dry, cold and hard chicken. No flavour whatsoever. Not edible.

4 small and greasy onion bargees were poor quality and also cold.

Hands down the worst meal I have ever ordered. I have been trying to call the premise however they do not answer the phone. We are still hungry as we couldn’t eat 95% of what we ordered. A total waste of £50.

I usually only leave reviews if I have something positive to say however I feel compelled to save others from this terrible restaurant hence why I am leaving this review. Avoid...

Absolutely horrendous service. Firstly, we were promised a delivery time of 40 minutes. After an hour, I tried to call them repeatedly over the course of half an hour without getting through.

When the food finally turned up, an hour and forty minutes after ordering, a plain naan that had been ordered arrived as a keema naan. The vegetarian who had ordered this item then began to eat it without realising. Once we realised what they had done, we rang them only to have the buck passed from one section to another, finally culminating in them agreeing to send out a fresh meal immediately.

An hour later and we are still waiting for the correct meal to arrive. The food that did arrive correctly was also extremely sub-par, compared to other local takeaways.

Personal recommendation is to never use this abysmal service, especially if you have any kind of dietary...

We really know our Indian cuisine, but our food tonight was so disappointing: 1.The tikka starter was basically reheated pieces of chicken, certainly not baked in clay oven, it was quite firm with no taste what so ever. The onions within even had the outer part of the onions. Lamb kurchi had little meat and was very bland The chicken murgh masala was stringy and also very bland Korma sauce was sweet like honey, we know it a real mild curry, but this was ridiculously sweet. Chips - wife wouldn’t eat them, they were reheated Keema Nan - the meat must have been painted on, and this flavour was really hot. Boiled rice was fine. ✅ Poppudoms were not fresh
