We headed to this place to grab a coffee and cake, breaking our journey around the Pembs coast (elevenses, it was way before their advertised lunch time) We parked at the side of the cafe as I have mobility issues (nothing to indicate that we shouldn't) We went to sneak a peek at the view before going in but we were told off in no uncertain terms! We were turned away from the restaurant as we didnt have a booking so had a take-away which they reluctantly agreed to serve us - Go to the kiosk they said, we are busy, its bank holiday weekend (It was only Thursday morning and the kiosk outside wasnt serving what we wanted) When we went to leave to search for a place with a view to drink our coffee, we found the road blocked with a sign! This sign was also now blocking access to the disabled parking slot. A kind passer-by removed it for us to pass. Thankfully we found parking in a private field with paid parking, very close to the beach with an amazing view to enjoy our drinks in peace before continuing our journey. We have travelled the world and this is the most hostile treatment we have ever received at an eatery. Its called the hospitality industry for a reason, this establishment needs to...
Read moreWhat a find! I’ve been on the Day Trip boat trip to Skomer, for the puffins, about 7 times and never knew this place existed. It’s only a 5 minute drive from where u park for the Skomer boat at St Martins Haven. So if u getting your timing right.... it’s a perfect pit stop either before or after the day trip. We left Skomer on the 4pm boat, so just snuck in for a very quick one before it shut at 5pm. Sadly hot food already finished which included the toasted tea cakes and no time for 2nds cake or tea. This was the reason I gave a 4 rather than 5. The tea/coffee and cakes we had were top notch. Stunning sea views from inside the cafe. Interesting and unusual art on the wall for sale. Other items for sale too.... lovely treats/gifts. The buildings around the courtyard...
Read moreMy wife and I had seen the reviews and fancied giving this place ago for lunch.
Well what a pleasant surprise.
The menu is small, but the food makes up for that.
I had mackerel with a potato salad 😋 and my wife had a Sweet potato and goats cheese quiche 😋. Both were fantastic and well above expectations.
I finish off work a slice of Love Cake.
I also purchased a can of Mead. Never seen mead on sale this before.
If you are around the area, it is a definite to stop over and try out the food. You will not be disappointed.
Would I return. Definitely YES. Would I recommend it. Definitely YES.
If you like my honest review please follow me as I regularly review please to eat around...
