Had an absolutely wonderful lunch here yesterday. I booked a table for my Daughter's birthday. There were three of us and not only was the food outstanding but the service was outstanding also. Two of us had fresh haddock, chips and pee puree all cooked to perfection. My daughter had her favourite, chicken nuggets, chips and beans, and received the most amazing birthday desert. My daughter was made to feel not only welcome but like a Princess. All the food was hot and delicious and plenty of it. There is a wonderful atmosphere here, beautiful things to look at, old photos etc, but by far the best experience was how the hospitality staff were. The gentleman behind the bar was courteous and helpful and cheerful, as were the waiting staff, they couldn't do enough for not only us but other people also having lunch. They were fabulous at cleaning the tables when people left, were smiling continuously and we felt sad when it was time to leave. The very best compliments to the chef, I haven't enjoyed food so much in a long time. Oh and as a coffee lover I am often disappointed by coffee that you get in pubs and restaurants but this wasn't the case here. Two hot delicious coffees, I applaud you for this aswell! A few strides away is Pwllgwaelod beach which is the most beautiful little beach with wonderful views. As you can tell I cannot recommend The Sailor's at Pwllgwaelod enough. We WILL be returning. Thankyou to you all for such a wonderful experience. My daughter had a wonderful birthday and you all helped in making it this way for her. I thank you all very much. Look forward to seeing...

We found this restaurant as we had gone for a lovely spin in the car. Asked personally if they had room. And they did. We had our dog with us too. It was a Saturday and it seemed quite busy. The waiter brought the menues to us and we were really shocked at the prices on the menu as we didn't think it was that sort of restaurant looking at photos and reviews. There was only one thing on there my son could eat as he only eats fish in batter. They had none of that on the menu. So we had to order him a steak. Which came with a dollop. And i mean a dollop of celeriac mash. Half a shallot. And two peices of the smallest steak you would ever find. How dissapointed he was. £30 for this!. I saw a munk fish thai curry so opted for that, only to be told by the waiter who was very nice by the way, that they had run out of monkfish and it was now a mackrel curry??????. £22 for this. Hardly any curry sauce when it came a thimble full of rice and 3 peices of fish whish had all the bones in so had to ask for a separate plate to pop those on to. My partner had a dish that was tiny and had ordered chips to make up. £ 25 for his. How dissapointed we all were. As we had seen good reviews for this place too and different food on menues. The waiter asked when collecting the plates if we enjoyed and I politely said I would of if I didn't have to pick out all the bones from the fish. He didn't say much. How can you eat a curry when a fish is full of bones. Hense we probably won't go again. Too expensive for what we had and wasn't brilliant....

26/09/2024 Sailor's Safety has recently come under new management, and after our visit today, it’s clear that they are making waves in the local dining scene. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch, which showcased their commitment to homemade dishes and fresh ingredients. One of their specialties is local fish, which we’ll definitely have to try on our next visit. On this occasion, we opted for the homemade beef burger, and it was nothing short of delightful. The patty was expertly cooked, juicy, and bursting with flavour. Accompanying the burger were perfectly crisp fries that were golden brown, as well as a refreshing fennel slaw that added a wonderful crunch and a hint of sweetness to the meal. The atmosphere at Sailor's Safety is warm and inviting, and I appreciate that dogs are welcome in the bar area. It’s always nice to see restaurants accommodating pet owners, even if the restaurant itself maintains a no-pets policy for health reasons—which is completely understandable. During our visit, the place was bustling with patrons, a testament to its growing popularity. To avoid disappointment, I highly recommend calling ahead to reserve a table before navigating the picturesque yet winding lanes that lead to this charming spot. In summary, Sailor's Safety under its new management is definitely worth a visit. With a focus on fresh, homemade fare and a welcoming atmosphere, it's a hidden gem that I look forward to...

We were the only people in the pub at 11.30 am. We asked for two mugs of tea. While we waited I put two slices of cheesecake on the counter after being told I could take them from the cabinet. While my wife waited at the counter for the tea I thought I would put the cheesecake on the table outside next to the front door a few feet away. I was told I couldn't take the food away until I had paid. I walked back and paid £17. Two cups of tea and two small slices of cheesecake with cellophane over the top which stuck to the topping when unwrapped. We went outside as the tea still wasn't ready and they said they would bring it out. After another 10 minutes we went back in. 4 others were waiting for coffee. Still no tea. We were told the machine needed to warm up. We asked if they could boil a kettle as we were walking 20 miles on the coast path and needed to get on. They did that and after a total of 20 minutes we had our tea. The cheesecake tasted as if it had been frozen and defrosted. We thought £17 was expensive. The view out across the sea was very nice despite the cold wind (for June).

Great location to stop off wether or not your doing the Pembrokeshire coastal path walk. Restaurant area looks clean and tidy. Barman polite and attentive. Nice clean toilets on site always a plus point. Can sit outside or inside. Selection of beers / Cold Drinks and hot drinks to suit everyone's taste / budget. I had the fish and chips ( didn't get any peas / mushy peas with mine ?! ā˜¹ļø ) fish was lovely but the chips were just run of the mill and tasted bit greasy ( not sure if old Oil being used ) I was hoping for home made chips due to the price of the food ( hence the 4 * ) all in all a good place To get a rest, drink and food if your on the coastal path walk / or having a sip in the sea.
