Parked on the road, so we didn't have to whine about the £5 parking fee. We found the staff to be really polite. We only had coffee and cake after the walk. We both opted for pumpkin and ginger. It was absolutely delicious. Rustic cafe, with a Bavarian type feel. The most amazing views of the waterfall too.

They really cymryd yr wrin. Paid £5 to park, 50p to use the toilet and then after queuing for lunch find that the 'restaurant' is CASH ONLY !!! No notice on the door. No warning. Waste of parking fee !!!

Lovely staff, they are only rude to people who deserve it! Nice food and drink. Would return but the road down is a bit tight at times.

Please note 1* given only to post this review. Otherwise it would be no stars! I visited on 30.08.22 around midday. With my 3 year old son who has additional needs, sis in law & her 2 children. I asked the girl working in the cafe if she wouldn't mind heating up my son's lunch as he's on blended foods. Which she happily did. I had popped to the loo (bring change as it's 40p per person)! By the time I got back to the table we were seating outside: the girl had brought my son's lunch out to my sis in law. She advised my sis in law that her boss would be very angry if he'd seen us eat sandwiches. They quickly popped whatever they had left in our bags etc, no rubbish was left. My sis in law & kids went to explore, I'd visited a couple of times in the past, plus I was feeding my son in the pram as he's not currently walking. We'd agreed to meet back by the cafe as I was looking forward to ordering chips, tea & cake. Which I thought I'd enjoy having fed my son & my sis in law wanted a cake, kids wanted ice creams. However the very rude owner came & said this is my home & this is my cafe you are not allowed to eat here it's for our customers only or something along them lines. I explained that I will be purchasing, my son has additional needs, cannot feed himself but once finished I'll be ordering. He said I suggest you do the right thing?! He walked off, returned after a few minutes saying my staff member said there were other children & another woman with you & you were all eating with your bags out etc etc. I said once they were told not too they packed up. He then replied I seen it all on cctv!? Literally I was there with 2 bags only my son's lunch pot & his pudding were on the table. I repeated, after feeding him I'm going to order, he told me no & asked me to leave!?! I was literally welling up but didn't want to get upset infront of my son. I was pushing the pram in one hand, his lunch in the other. The rude/arrogant man walked over to the unfriendly woman who had told us where to park & how much we needed to pay on arrival; that it is £5 to park until 5pm. The man stated to her I bet they haven't even paid for parking?! I said I'm parked there & I've paid for parking! I am still fuming & gobsmacked that people act in this manner! I will not...

Popped into the cafe after walking 3 hours to refuel. Ordered 2 cakes, 2 hot drinks and 1 can. My 10 year old daughter just asked for a tap water but the man behind the counter said they don't do tap water, only bottled water. I had a bottle of water in my bag but didn't want to appear rude getting my own drinks out of my bag so I asked if she could just have a tap water and he replied "yes we have a tap but you'll have to have bottled". I didn't buy the bottle, obviously!

The sign by the counter stated that they accept card but prefer cash (which I completely understand but we didn't have enough money on us). We got our card out and he then said, "have you got cash as card machine isn't working"? We explained we didn't have enough on us so he got the card machine out which all of a sudden happened to work. Very odd place!

Such a shame that we had this negative experience as the area is beautiful but you're definitely being ripped off by being charged to use their toilet and £5 to use the car park. I am all for supporting places like this but this place is the biggest rip off of them all! I was hoping to come back to use their campsite or B&B but I 100% would never return!

My children did say their cakes were really nice so I'll end this on a...

The food looked lovely however the lady that was serving was incredibly rude. She wasn't overly busy, it was a rainy day. She looked me up and down and said "I'm not serving yet" in a very waspish tone. A couple came in after us and she said to them "if you would like to take a seat I'll be with you shortly" They were dressed in walking gear, myself, I was in a storm jacket and walking wellies (rainy and muddy remember) my niece's were in waterproofs and wellies and my partner was in his walking gear. She completely ignored and served a family that had come in behind us. I must point out that nowhere does it say sit down service. There is a counter with food and a till. I've worked in pubs, I've served food on extremely busy Sunday lunches. I've worked on events at Fairfield Halls in Croydon and at events at the Victoria Apollo in London. And I have always been polite, even to the rudest customers. But we weren't even served, we were given a look as though we were riff raff, and I assume we are not. And then ignored. So we took our custom elsewhere, we went to Lake Vrmwy cafe where they are always welcoming and polite! Beautiful...
