Gorgeous food, very well presented and service was fast; I couldn't believe how fast we received our meal after ordering. I had given up hope of eating steak again, as there always seemed to be more fat and gristle than meat, but not time, and I enjoyed every bit of it.
It's just a shame that the restaurant wasn't bigger, as you HAD to have a reservation; so anyone rocking up after a hard sail and starving would be out of luck. There was an outdoor area, but that's weather dependant, of course.
The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and were able to assist in both meal and drink choices. We even booked the sunday lunch in advance to save disappointment.
The Sunday lunch was OUTSTANDING and had to be added to this review, as everything was so tasty and well prepared. Your choice of meal was served, and then individual bowls of veg came out, nicely portioned, extremely tasty, and certainly not overcooked and limp like others I have had. I even like the mashed swede, and I NEVER eat swede normally, that's how nice the veg was. I truly am not over selling how lovely the food is here.
But it's worth a mention that even if you have not made a reservation, you are still welcome at the bar for a...
Read moreWhat a find! On a short break in the area and this was in walking distance! We didn't book a table and showed up on the off chance on a Tuesday evening. They did fit us in, but they were busy so booking is recommended. The food was simply stunning. A great selection, I had a calamari starter and swordfish main and both were served fast and looking delicious. My wife had a more limited selection, being gluten intolerant, but we were told that selection could have been extended if we'd booked in advance. She chose the simple gammon steak, but in her words "I just though gammon was gammon until that steak". Extremely tender, not too salty. The staff were excellent, being friendly, very quick to serve and not overbearing. Finished with a drink on the outside deck overlooking the marina, a very nice way to finish kit holiday. Thankyou. If I had any complaint at all, I'd say they need a better selection of...
Read moreWe made this visit for old times sake as some 50 years ago used to visit this pub with my parents and family, Grandparents, Uncle. There used to be a little shop where you could buy flying toys and all things beachy. The shop is gone but happy to find that the pub is still a busy family friendly place with a good selection of foods on the menu. Although busy and crowded we didn't have to wait long for food which was tasty and well cooked. Would have given a higher mark if the tables hadn't been so sticky, despite asking for it to be cleaned. Fast turn over on the carpark and plenty of roadside parking before you get to the pub. Great for a walk along the beach to walk...
