Earlier today I had the pleasure of visiting the Bear Bakery a local, small, artisan sourdough bakery and I must say, it was an absolute delight. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with the heavenly aroma of freshly baked bread, and I knew I was in for a treat. It was so refreshing to be able to see both a working bakery up close and the finished goods at the same time. Their sourdough bread is simply outstanding. It has the perfect crust, with just the right amount of crunch, and a soft, chewy interior with a tangy, complex flavour that only comes from expertly fermented dough. I have also tried their rye bread, which makes awesome toast, especially when spread with good salted butter. The focaccia is a particular favourite, the flavours vary but the roasted garlic and rosemary is absolutely awesome and just begs to be eaten with buratta and a chilled glass of dry white wine. But the bread is only the beginning. The bakery also offers a variety of pastries and sweets, all made with the same level of care and attention to detail as the bread. The Bear croissants are flaky and buttery, with layers that practically melt in the mouth. The Bear pies and rolls can only be described as legendary, when it features as a special I make every effort to secure a rabbit pie. As an avowed carnivore I love the pork pies and sausage rolls and will always choose them first, however on those days where only Bear rolls are left, I must begrudgingly admit that these veggie rolls are so damn tasty. The Bear custard tart is rumoured to be from a recipe by Marcus Wareing, it is divine. Marcus couldn’t bake it any better himself. If you get the chance don’t hesitate, buy a slice. One thing that really stands out about this bakery is the passion and dedication of the small, friendly, and dedicated team. They clearly take pride in their craft, and it shows in every bite. It's refreshing to see a small, local business that truly cares about their product and their customers. Overall, I would highly recommend this artisan sourdough bakery to anyone who appreciates quality baked goods. Whether you're a sourdough bread lover, a pastry aficionado, or just someone who enjoys great food, this bakery is a must-visit. Opposite the bakery is a great coffee shop serving some of the best flat whites outside New Zealand. On a Saturday there might be a small queue at the bakery, grab a coffee and plan what to buy, you will not be disappointed

Called in after collecting our car from the garage close by, staff very helpful and pleasant, found people queuing before the shop opened, the variety of delights on offer placed on the counter made if difficult to decide what to buy, so chose a loaf, cinnamon pasties, carrot slices, sausage rolls, with a bacon and cheese croissant, all items bought so soft and fresh, sausage roll had I believe had a hint of fennel which intensified the taste of the meat which I loved, will definitely call again if im in the area.

Simply amazing bread and pastries. Another level. Already enormously popular with the locals, get there early or they'll sell out, and be prepared to queue, it's absolutely worth every minute of the wait.

What a fantastic little spot.

We were staying round the corner with family, and were looking for a place to grab some breakfast. I found The Bear Cafe on Google Maps and we decided to stop by.

Such a curious little spot. The Bear is set in the centre of an industrial park, but you'll know you're nearby from the wonderful smells that hover around the park and entice you in. I only took a star from the atmosphere due to the isolated and industrial nature of the park. However, as far as UK industrial parks go, there are certainly worse spots to enjoy a gorgeous breakfast!

We picked up a couple of breakfast baps and some brownies, while my FiancƩe grabbed some coffee from the adjacent Bear coffee establishment. I cannot compliment the food and service enough. The staff were wonderfully friendly, the food was prepared rapidly and I couldn't fault the food itself if I wanted to (which I certainly don't!). I'm actually yet to try my brownie, but I've spent much of the 6 hour drive home thinking about the best breakfast bap I remember having, possibly ever.

Do yourself a favour and stop by this hidden...

My other half had the chocolate brownie said it was perfect slightly crunchy on the outside but moist and very flavoursome with big chunks of chocolate . Cant wait to try the other hoodies over the next couple of days . We will...
