The Belle Vue — Restaurant in Wales

I arrived around 6pm, there was not parking available for my car. Fair enough, luckily I did not have much luggage so I parked on the street. I went inside to check in. A musky smell welcomed me and No one was at the counter. After a long while the waitress appeared, she had to bring some food to the tables and serve some other customers. She was the only one running the place, so I waited, no problem, I understand. Then she showed me the bedroom. Well, it is true that I payed only £55 for the night but these rooms had seen better days for sure! I cannot describe the smell and the state of the carpet around the pub in general. Quite disgusting to be honest. But at least the bed sheets were clean! The waitress was really helpful and kind but it was a bit frustrating to have to wait ages to be able to talk to her. We wanted somewhere to eat on Saturday night as we were staying locally. The bar was busy and there was a large table booked but the lovely lady behind the bar found us a table. The menu is simple and my husband and I both ordered burgers. They were simple burgers and chips but they did the job. We even had room for pudding. I had the salted caramel waffle and he had the chocolate fudge cake with cream. Not a huge choice of wine but we had a nice bottle of Merlot. Overall it was ok, what we needed and filled us up. My wife and I stayed here through work recently and what a wonderful small hotel it is. Clean and tidy and a warm welcome from the owner, staff and locals. Room was well equipped, tea, coffee, TV etc.||Breakfast is pre order the night before and was excellent with the owner and chef having excellent knowledge of food intolerances and was more than happy to cater for them.
