The Black Lion Bar — Restaurant in Wales

It was the first time my wife and I had visited St.Clears. We were walking around the town centre looking for somewhere to have a meal when we came across The Black Lion Hotel. so I went in to see what time they start serving food, the young man behind the bar was very helpful and told me that food is served from 18.00. The hotel looked tidy and there was a good menu. The man behind the bar also told me that dogs were welcome, which was good because we had our dog with us.||My wife and I returned to the Hotel at 18.00. when we walked in I ordered a couple of drinks at the bar while my wife found a table, on my way over to the table I noticed there was a group of customers stood at the bar swearing very loudly.Then we noticed it was not just the customers but also the cook who was behind the .bar. As a regular customer, I am disappointed to be leaving this review, we had beef dinner yesterday and we were extremely disappointed, I have had a few and always they been amazing, and had other food in the restaurant, but unfortunately yesterday it was not.The gravy was like water, roast potatoes were hard and frozen like texture and tasteless, I am not writing this review to be rude, just it best to know, rather than not be told and due to working in catering myself I'd like to know. so please do not take this the wrong way,.and...

Brilliant pub. From being out of town and there on work for a week, not only were we made to feel welcome by the staff, the locals too. Had a couple of steak dinners during the week and I have to say they serve the tastiest fillet EVER!!! Chef says he only seasons with salt but I think there is something more making the fillet the best tasting ever. If you are in the area, please pop in.
