I used to love The Bridge, but on 20th February 2025, at 5pm (Manager check CCTV) we had a terrible experience. Firstly, the man cutting the meat gave me two tiny pathetic bits of ham. And they were mostly fat, which you can see in the photo. We chose a seat away from the noise, and because we're both Autistic, I specifically asked for no checks or disturbances, in the nicest way possible, while ordering out drinks. My partner asked for "Pepsi with Sugar", and as a diabetic, I asked for "Pepsi Max" (Max is Zero sugar). However, they served me a full sugar Pepsi, I could taste it. I know Pepsi Max very well. Believe me when you've been drinking only sugar free for 19 years, the glucose taste hits you pretty hard. Additionally, I could see my glucose meter sugar levels rising rapidly, which is a clear sign. Despite asking for "no checks or disturbances" one of the women invaded my personal space by reaching around behind me to turn a light on. Now I could taste her perfume and long shift body odour. A gentleman asked us if everything was ok, which is the very interruption we had asked not to have. Default response "yes fine thanks", explaining the problems then and there would have been a form of confrontation which I can't cope with; I'd have a panic attack. Then another woman came over to ask if everything was ok, and now I'm starting to get upset.... I said "fine thanks", then she said "I'm just going to put some lights on". To which I replied, "actually we're really enjoying the atmosphere the way it is". She ignored me and continued to walk around us, putting the lights on. There were no other customers to benefit from these little side lamps. We just don't understand why people have gone out of their way to make our visit a bad one.... I wasn't rude when I asked for no disturbances, I explained that my partner and I are on the spectrum. We don't want any extra treatment, we're just ok with being left alone. My partner couldn't finish her food because she felt there was something off with it, and she was upset we'd been treated this way, despite being super polite. ...my opinion on the food: the Yorkshire puddings were like biscuits, I couldn't cut them at all. The Ham was tiny, and literally 50% fat. The beef was overcooked and tough. The gravy trains were missing, and we don't like to go up twice. The carrots were not sliced, they were thick 1 inch chunks, which was unexpected and unusual. And if that wasn't bad enough, the next morning, and throughout the day, we both were very unwell. I had vomiting, and my partner had vomit and diarrhoea. We hadn't eaten anything else out of the ordinary, so all things considered, it was probably the carvery that did that to us.

I am going to be completely honest here. My first time visiting and I will return as it's great value for money, but I am in no rush ... The carvey was amazing, and there was no skimping on the meat. The vegetables were really good too, but I feel you had to be picky because some were left out a tad too long and went too soft, especially the roasties. It was actually the first carvey where I said the beef was lovely and tender ... a rarity for carveys as its usually shoe leather. Some of the staff were not really that prepared, and came across a bit clueless. Even though we prebooked, it felt like they didn't know who I was when I said we had a table booked under my name. The worst part for me was we had a vegetarian with us who had to have the nut roast. We were so glad to see a vegetarian option however, it did not come out until the time we had finished our carvey, and when they did eat it, we found what appeared to be a whole jelly stock cube mixed in which was super salty and congealed. If you plan to visit. I would so on an off day where it's a less stressful service, especially as the parking situation is dire.

Visited with friends who live locally on Sunday. The carvery Sunday lunch was excellent. A choice of beef, turkey and ham with a wide selection of vegetables. All perfectly cooked. The meat melted in your mouth. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive and despite the place being busy they served the food quickly and efficiently. All the tables were safely spaced out and it did not feel crowded. We had a lovely meal and would go again if we were in the area. The only problem we had was trying to park in the crowded car park although we did find a space when someone left and the toilets although very clean and well maintained had a slightly puzzling configuration and were not obvious to a new visitor. Only minor points which should not distract from an excellent pub. Make sure you visit but make sure you book first. It is a very popular place and when you visit you can see why.

My family and I travelled from Portsmouth to Llanelli for a surprise family birthday meal. Upon arrival the venue wasn’t open, however, the staff were setting up and asked us if we were okay. Explaining our trip up, they were extremely accommodating and let us in early to use the toilet facilities and sort our twin babies out before they opened. The first thing we noticed, apart from the friendly staff, was how clean and tidy the venue was. The toilets were lovely, smelled clean and well kept. The outside seating was organised and well kept, and inside the venue/conservatory area, it was lovely and clean.

Once we were sorted, they invited us in for a seat and a drink while we waited. They were incredibly friendly and polite. They moved a few bits around to allow us to fit our double buggy and even a pop up play pen for the babies, after a long drive they just wanted to stretch their legs!

Whilst ordering food one of the items we ordered wasn’t available, but it was no bother as the menu had a lot of great food on. Ordered something else and, Nikki couldnt have been more attentive. He went above and beyond to apologise for the initial item being on the menu and doubled up on the food I’d ordered.

The food was fantastic, the portion sizes were incredible, to the point where most of us couldn’t finish our plates! Which is saying something for a lot of us! And all for a really reasonable price.

Will absolutely return to this venue when we next visit! Thank you so much to all the staff for a...

The bridge is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to, and it’s become mine and my partners #1 restaurant of choice when going out !

The atmosphere is perfect and inviting and fitting with what you’d want out of a cosy pub, and this coupled with friendly staff makes the overall experience whether it’s dining or simply popping in for a pint a great and enjoyable experience, but the number 1 thing that keeps me coming back time after time is the food, when you go to a restaurant and the chips are better than those from the chippy, you know you’re in a top notch place !

Everything is top quality, and there hasn’t been a single thing I’ve eaten there that hasn’t been perfectly seasoned, and quite simply… everything is delicious. You can tell that the restaurant doesn’t skimp on quality and it shows in the food (seriously just the chips alone, if they sold them in bags I’d never go to a chip shop again)

Not only this but the carvery available there is also the best I’ve had, everything seems always fresh and moist which is not always a given when carvery’s are left out to serve yourself.

All this, and quite a reasonable price for the quality, makes the bridge a number 1 restaurant in my books...
