I can't understand how there are so many 5 star reviews.

The people are lovely, although it's definitely possible to be overly attentive.

The food is really bad. Most, if not all, was frozen. I've eaten many steaks over the years and the one I was served was the worst. Odd taste, which was explained away as being hung for a long time... the ones Lidl sell are hung for longer and are better quality by far. I wouldn't be surprised if the meat was old and/or frozen. The texture was poor and the meat was overcooked. I didn't eat it after a couple of bites. I was offered replacement food, but after the experience I'd had up to that point and seeing what my family had been served, I just went without until we could get something elsewhere. The kids ate some beans and the baby who doesn't know better ate some of my wife's from-frozen chilli con carne (not spicy thankfully). The baby was the only one who ate it.

We had to disappoint the kids and leave without having dessert, but it really wasn't comfortable to be there any longer.

The bill was reduced appropriately.

The owner had recommended another place when we had a mix up with the original booking - The Piccadilly Inn, Caerwys. Top marks for that, as we ate there today and it was amazing. One of the best steaks I've had in a while and cooked exactly...

The Cherry Pie Inn is a lovely restaurant situated next to a little stream on the back road to Mold. We were served by a friendly gentleman who was very welcoming. As it was a warm sunny day we sat outside for drinks to begin with, giving us time to look over the menu. There's plenty to choose from on the menu, even on Sunday - with a traditional range of roasts, fish dishes, light bites and plenty of vegetarian options too - all ample portion sizes - leaving enough room for dessert! With 2- and 3-course price options it was an affordable and delightful meal. Service was pleasant and courses were prompt but we weren't rushed, even with plenty of people there it felt like a really relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely look to go again when we're in the area, and it's worth a bit of a drive out if you're staying...

This was our second visit to the Cherry Pie Inn, and just like our last visit, the food was absolutely beautiful!

We had Melon and Mozzarella Dippers for starters, and they were both good-sized portions and very tasty.

For our main course, we decided to try the Portobello Chicken, one with chips and veg and the other with new potatoes and veg. Again, portion size was just perfect, and the sauce was delicious and creamy. Not too overpowering.

For dessert, we decided to share profiteroles and tiramisu, both of which were beautiful.

We've had a brilliant experience each time we've been and would highly recommend this eaterie to others. A* service, A* venue&location and A* food.

Thank you for making our visit memorable for all the right reasons, and we will be...

Absolutely wonderful food and hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Food came to the table together and hot. What we liked most was the food was proportional and a nice size with shared veg etc. However for those who may of had a slightly bigger appetite than others, it was asked if we would like more chips and veg. That in my opinion is a good idea as it less waste rather than sending out a massive plate of food and people unable to finish leaving lots. A good restaurant with positive food distribution which is of high quality. Looking forward to returning.

This is a lovely family owned country pub. It is clearly popular with the locals, which I always think is a good sign. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the landlord and his staff. The food was really delicious and morish. I had plaice for main followed by a banana split. My friend had cottage pie followed by an Eton mess. Both of us really enjoyed the food and the ambience within the pub. This pub is an absolute gem well worth visiting for a meal.

We had our anniversary dinner at The Cherry Pie last night. This is a lovely little restaurant with friendly owners. Our meal was delicious. We had 3 courses followed by coffee. They had a good choice of bottled beer and wines and spirits as well as a few on draught. The menu is varied with something to please everyone. I would definitely recommend this lovely place and we will be going there again. Friendly staff, great food in a beautiful building. What more could you want.
